"I am not sure what has happened with this restaurant but the quality of the food has really gone down hill. I tried to give this place one more chance as it?s a neighborhood and local restaurant to us. However, after this last experience I am pretty fed up. My fiancé and I ordered a chicken gyro Greek salad. We asked for everything on the side and the chicken to be well done. Well.. the chicken basically looked undercooked (which I couldn?t eat) there was barely any feta cheese in the salad, the dressing was dumped into the salad making it soggy and took over 45 minutes to come. I will say I called and complaint and they send me ?WELL DONE? chicken gyro to accommodate. I do understand that mistakes happen and am not the one to complain but I would say if you order from this place don?t be surprised if you are over paying for Turkish style food. I would recommend sitting down in the restaurant and you will get a better experience.."

"Pretty on plate but bland on taste. Plus rude Manager to add to a poor experience. Let’s talk service first. Called at 6pm to make reservations for 7.30 and was told that no reservations today it’s all walk in. Reached at 7.20 (drove from Queens to Manhattan) and the manager who was bartender or bartender who doubled as manager asked for reservation even though 9 out of 12 tables were empty. I told him we tried to make reservation on phone and were told it’s walk in today and he completely denied it and insisted we should have made reservation. But how when the lady who picked call said none was needed today. We asked if we should leave then he said wait 5 mins and I will check. Made us wait 10-12 mins by bar side while my kids were hungry, as he had to hand over Uber orders first, punch in order for a take away and handle make a few drinks then he made time for us and got us one of the 9 empty tables. No regrets or making you welcome. Already a poor start.About food- we ordered 5 entrees, two appetizers and a side. To my utter dismay and my family’s (we are regular Persian eaters and we try and look for the best Everytime we travel) the food though looked pretty on the plate was terribly lacking flavor, aroma or any Persian taste. The rice was ok-ish with baghali pulav having not enough Lima beans and zereshk pulao appeared to be watered down version. The lamb koobideh was meh and chicken koobideh was ok but uncooked in some parts of it. The Cornish chicken (jooheh kebab) lacked any flavor and appeared chicken roasted with a dash of color with no marination. The only partly saving grace was mast moosir and the Qaimeh. White rice was just steamed basmati and not done persian style that fluffs up. In all the food was a major disappointment as we started our NYC trip with this meal. It’s the least best $200 spent on persian food for a family of 4 adults and two kids. I would definitely give this a pass and not recommend to anyone at all.PS: bartender/manager you may want to learn the art of management and know even good food cannot save bad service."

"We had a variety of wraps, so babaganoush, and their greek salads. The wraps were satisfying and good sizes and came with fries. The babaganoush was good, if light on eggplant (more yogurt based). The big disappointment was the Greek salad, which was 95% romaine lettuce with maybe three olives and three pieces of cucumber and a few onions. I would pass on that next time and just stick to the meats and falafel.They have outdoor seating and the food was ready pretty quickly. Wraps are $12.95, so a decently priced and filling lunch."

"Awful experience. The sandwich had no chicken in it at all. The salad was drenched in dressing, which overwhelmed the sauce and created a bitter taste. The fries were the low-quality kind, heavily battered, and tasteless."

"Had been waiting for quite some time to go to this restaurant and it was soooooo worth it! Very nice and clean. Wonderful customer service. We started with the hummus and warm pita bread. It was pretty awesome and my sons who had not had it before really liked it. I had the Chicken Shawarma, my son had the Leon Salad and my youngest son had the lamb. The servings are very generous and included rice and salad all delicious and we had to get boxes as we were unable to finish our food in one sitting. I only wished I had bought the baklava and brought it home. We will be back!Parking: Awkward parking."

"One of the most Greek restaurant in San Diego. We love their outdoor patio dining. Thw interior decor was amazing. The staff and server are very friendly making sure we have everything we wanted and if the food is delicious and of course it was. We had beef kebab and calamari plates and was really sumptuous. We had their homemade baklava as a dessert and it was a real delicacy."

"The food is spectacular! The service is over the top! Any of the gyros plates will fit your culinary desire! Moreover, I’d left my sunglasses and DEBIT card at Cafe Akroteri, called the next day and Kate, Coleen Sarah agreed to mail both back to me in Seattle. I’m not just going back for the food, and recommending the restaurant to my entire network, but I’ll be back to the Cafe b/c I believe they are indeed a 5-Star operation simply by food and level of quality service"

"This is my new favorite here in town. The food is always fresh and the portions are generous. The garlic sauce is addicting! Maybe they could provide more pita with the hummus and add some on the side of dinners as well, or just make it an option to order extra online. Chicken shawarma fries are my favorite and just as good as you'd find in NYC or a bigger city."
