"HORRIBLE. Service at the bar was slow and disinterested. The unpadded wood chairs were both uncomfortable and incongruous with the elegant room. Once seated with a menu, I noted the absence of their famous lobster stew. They were known for this stew with the lobster shaped puff pastry atop, and this should have tipped me off the kitchen skill had plummeted. I ordered the lobster (chowder? bisque to be followed by the lobster dinner. The bisque arrived, and other than looking a little dark, was nicely presented with a small portion of lobster. The lobster meat was tender and warm. BUT the bisque was ghastly. It had all the flavor of flour and warm water. It wasn 't just bland; it was not food but instead paste typically given to children. Upon receiving this dish I proceeded to do something I have never done before: I called over the waiter and advised him this was not to my liking; to cancel the entrée; and charge me only for the porridge if I were required to pay since I ate the piece of lobster (with the remainder of the gruel left undisturbed in the bowl . Without any inquiry over my dissatisfaction, I was presented with a bill for the bilge. I paid and departed without so much as an inquiry or expression of concern. The inescapable conclusion is that the establishment is fully aware its fare is wholly inesculent; otherwise, general curiosity alone would have warranted what seems to be out of order or is there something else I might bring you, or I 'm so sorry our food has sickened you. Certainly the pandemic staff shortage has hobbled the kitchen. But there are plenty of canned and institutional bisques that are at least palatable. Who hasn 't eaten on an airplane. But this was far worse than airline food. The combination of poor food and unprofessional management compels dining elsewhere in Bar Harbor. That the restaurant would serve this compels avoiding anything from its kitchen. Look elsewhere for now."

"a fairly solid place for going out and standard Italian dishes. good gluten-free choices and the gf broccoli and cauliflower crust on the pizza are also quite delicious. I also had pasta and wings here. both are always quite consistent. the personal here is pleasant when they call and they have their food, mostly, ready for time. I was also in the West-Seneca position and eating is quite seamless, which is nice to know what they get. the portions are quite large and a fair price for the price. after eating here I can be happy to have rest for lunch the next day. I just ordered a sale and picked up a small pizza and Tuscan salad with huh. the pizza was for someone else, but it looked good and was hot when I took it up. a lot of chickens and it had a decent amount of toppings and what seemed like a homemade balsamico vinaigrette. my only call is that there were hardly any apples and they were a little tasteless and brown. they had probably been sitting around one of them and they looked a little sad. If I had ordered this again, I would hope there would be more fresh apples. Apart from the fact that the spring mix was fresh, the chicken was well cooked, and the blue cheese, apples, walnuts and dried cranberries went nicely together. I was happy that they did not spidy hot bun in the salat as many places do because at the time they were after home the salat wilts. if they are in the opposite and need a decent meal, check them out!"

"Worst restaurant experience in my 30 years of being alive. Disappointed is not a strong enough word. For our group of 7 girls, we made a reservation weeks in advance to celebrate our friend’s bachelorette dinner. Upon arrival, our table was not set up when we were taken back to be seated, the hostess struggled to move tables around and chairs were falling over and she was not assisted by any of her coworkers to get our table set up or place setting established. We waited a good 20 minutes before a server came to get our drink order or even bring us bread to the table. A kind woman eventually came over to say she would be helping us and bringing waters and bread to the table. Once the waters came, another male server came to the table and rudely said he thought he was taking our table; note, this was the first time any of us even saw this man in the restaurant. In front of our whole table, the male server started to argue with the female about who had the table, and it was just a really awkward exchange. The male server continued to give us his name and tell us he was there if we needed anything. The female server was embarrassed and went to the manager to make sure she didn’t take another servers table. Afterwards, she told us the male server would be taking care of us. Even then, we had to wait longer for the male server to come back over to our table to take drink orders. A member from our group went to speak to the manager in private and explain how discouraged we were and how inappropriate the employees discussing who was to take the table were behaving. The manager, trying to make it right brought the bride of our group a glass of champagne, trying to make it right. Still without drinks, we as a group decided if the drinks weren’t good, we would be leaving. We waited extremely long just for our drinks. Keep in mind: the manager was busting his butt playing bartender, server, assisting in the kitchen and dealing with many unhappy customers. Since"
