"We had not been here in years. We were impressed with the improved ambiance. The server was attentive, friendly, and helpful. The ceasar salad, with added anchovies was ample and tasty. The chicken marsala was nicely presented, chicken was moist and tender, pasta perfectly done. The sauce was a bit sweeter then expected but still a tasty dish. The other dish, not pictured, was the pear stuffed pasta...a dish worth trying on your visit to Portofino's."

"Our visit at lunch time was very middle of the road to say the least. We ordered the lemon butter chicken and chicken avocado wrap. The chicken on both was pretty dry unfortunately. The fries we got were seasoned well, though. The kids meals we ordered as well were definitely less than stellar. A grilled cheese was stacked with 4 slices of cheese which would 've been fine, but they weren 't anywhere close to melted through. Also, the kids alfredo and the lemon butter chicken both stated they came with garlic bread, but wasn 't present when the food arrived. We were informed there would be a $0.40 upcharge to receive it as they had a menu update . That would 've been fine had we been informed of that.We 'll try this place again in the future, but perhaps at dinner time when they 're busier and might be more on their A game."

"Nice place. Lots of TV’s and a great selection of cold beer on tap. <br/ <br/ The staff was nice and my beer glass was never empty. <br/ <br/ I had the Ahi Tuna appetizer. Tuna was very good and seared properly. The Asian salad was good also. The only thing, the sweet Thai sauce on the Ahi was sparse there should have been more applied. "I was with my sibling and they had a sleeveless (not muscle) shirt on. we were rejected for the hemdes they had. the hostesses had both spaghetti string low cut revealing tops on (like other guests.) when I asked myself to speak with a manager, the manager said it was a 50-year-old policy (not published in restaurant or on the website) that “small” must have sleeves. I asked if she was my siblings sexually male. she was quiet, then I asked again and she said, "we don't have to go there." we went quietly. I asked them what other 50 years old policies they have. from the opposite I admit that the outdoor terrace location is one of the better prospects, but eating (including the chowder) is best in average. very short walk to other major restaurants that have better eating, which are more tolerant and welcoming."

"Absolutely horrible place! Read the name and just do yourself a favor and WALK ON to a decent restaurant! I suggested this place as a good place to go after my daughter's graduation. We got there an hour before closing and with over half the tables empty it still took 15 mins to be seated. We looked over the menu and ordered a round of drinks and appetizers. The drinks came out after 10 mins and the appetizer shortly after so all was good. After we finished our first round, had the appetizer plates cleaned and stacked away for the waitress she came back and we ordered another round. She refilled the two teas and never came back with drinks. The next time she visited the table we asked for our drinks and she told us the bar was closed even though we had put in a prior order. We then sat and watched other people get served at the bar while we was not allowed. We asked the bartender to serve us but she said we would have to get it from our server! We told them to keep the food and we would leave. The manager came over and we explained this to him in a very professional manner. He tried to charge us for the whole meal, and we told him that was not going to happen and he could keep the food! He tried to give us this story about how he had so many people come in and it was just ruff. The manager had no concern about making it right, but just getting us out of the establishment so he could close. I wish I could leave less than 1 star. We was completely ready to drop a healthy bill on food and leave a very generous tip! Now I will only do my best to tell any person that I know to stay completely away from this place! Absolute trash restaurant that I would never recommend, or go too again!"

"I came in here in the evening time for dinner with my family. We sat and ordered and the waitress seemed eager to take the order. Once the food came, I realized that my order wasn't complete. The waitress was no where to be found to correct this, she just disappeared. We had to have another waitress to search for her to correct the issue. Once the issue was corrected, she never came back to the table to check on us after that. She finally came by to tell us she was getting our ticket for checkout after she checked out the large table, then she would come back to us. The food was good with exception what I ordered is not what I received. What I asked NOT to be put on the sandwich was put on it, and what was suppose to be on it never was put on it. The food was good but the service fell short of the service they rave about. I was not impressed at all by how the waitress just forgot about our table. The manager had to finally come over, and apologize for the extensive wait, then took our payment. After all that, then the waitress gives us the check. Over all, 2 star service."

"This place is a hidden gem! To my surprise, there were hardly any people eating dinner there on a Saturday night. I think the only reason is because it's inside a hotel, so you can't see it from the street (there is a sign). The food was amazing, and yes I'm an SF foodie, and would consider myself a harsh critic. I think this place had a perfect vibe, chill, hip, eclectic light fixtures decor, all without being pretentious. Our server was really nice, and made us feel like we were right at home. The food was wonderful and unexpected. The artichoke was delicious, the flat bread was very flat, which I love since I'm trying to be low carb.
