"On weekends for lunch in late November stopped and a quiet table with a breathtaking view of the lake and snowy mountains. The French diving sandwich was delicious, with creamy horseradish with the rich thin slices of beef and one side crispy broken frits. The mahi tacos were not quite so impressive (with missing three-colour chips), but the pineapple salsa was fresh and bright. The service was fast and friendly, carefully revitalized with dishes and filled with water glasses. Overall, it was a winning experience. Nice location, delicious food at a good price, and Snappy service."

"Had a birthday dinner here and we all enjoyed it. Steaks were perfectly cooked. I had a fillet mignon that I also ordered along with the truffle butter that melted up and the chimichurri sauce on the side. I put the chimichurri sauce over the top into a beautiful thing layer as soon as the butter melts and it could be the best steak I ever had. The combination of butter and sauce on a well-cooked steak was like eating sweets. I honestly couldn't stop until it was gone. We have scallops and Brussels sprouts for appetizers. I think there was a balsamic glaze in the Brussels sprouts that gave it a unique taste. Scallops were large and well cooked. Sides with dinner we had truffle Mac and the asparagus. The truffle Mac was not as good as other places, but OK. Asparagus came with a fried egg and they were cooked exactly right. We had a few cocktails to start and a few bottles of wine. Corkage is $20 per piece. She won't open a bottle of wine when it's on her wine list. I was very surprised by the selection on the wine list. It is super extensive and has all major CA and WA red wines. We brought a Leonetti Sangiovese that she hadn't seen otherwise, but they had it! Service was professional and in line with guidelines that would learn a sommelier. The other servers were quick to refill water, bring replacement silverware etc. Everyone was polite, sociable and pleasant. They had many different steak cuts that are great. No waygu or something, but many big steak cuts. The Filet Mignon was 8oz and actually one of the cheapest steaks on the menu. Long story short, we recommend and will return when we return to McCall."

"By the Way has an adorable, clean storefront. Their staff are so lovely. I have no need to eat gluten or dairy free but I got my own birthday cake here seriously the lemon cake is the best I've ever had; it's also my go to cake spot for celebrating others. Oh and the chocolate schnibbler (a mini cake) is absolutely delicious...in fact I've never been disappointed in anything I've tried there. Did you know it's also a dairy free, kosher shop? Not vegan but if you have dairy or gluten sensitivities you have to try this place. Even if you don't you must try this place, you won't be disappointed."

"Love, love, love their chocolate truffles and lemons poppy cake. My colleague brought her cake one day and I've been in love with her cakes ever since! Believe me, I don't have a sweet tooth and I'm a picky eater for pastries. Their chocolate truffle cakes taste silky smooth, creamy and rich, and moderately sweet. I don't get vibes artificial flavors and can have many slices of their cakes without feeling too much. Not only that their cakes are also gluten-free, milk free and kosher friendly. I placed a customized birthday cake with them and the communication was easy. The guests were amazed by the beauty and taste of the cake. Their prices especially for the custom cakes were also good value that I did my homework and compared all bakery shops on the Upper East Side. Consider their taste, appearance and overall quality, you cannot be better. I highly recommend them!"

"The Pine is a great spot for date night. We made reservations for a Friday night and had a great seat. Our waitress was super sweet and gave some good food and drink recommendations. We tried six of the tapas dishes but our favorites were the focaccia, pimento cheese crostini, and dates. The brick oven in the kitchen have the space a cool vibe."
