"I went to this place last week and it was definitely a really good experience. We had a get together and chose this place. We were 15 people in all and each one of us was paid attention by the staff. This was probably the best part of visiting this place. The food was also delicious and drinks were good as well. The most impressive thing about this place was the treatment by the staff. Thankyou LA Scala for such a wonderful experience."

"The food was amazing. The house tomato sauce was the best we've ever had. I got the ravioli in tomato cream sauce with shrimp. It was fabulous! The homemade bread served with olive tapenade was delicious as well. Our child was delighted in the adult style children's menu (nice, cursive, in a leather folder). He loved the pizza. Great authentic Italian ambience and waiters. We will definitely go back and recommend to others."

"I only rated this high because of the very pleasant owner and the taste of the food. Otherwise it was one of the worst experiences we had because of the waiter who thinks he was so smart… We have been to NY for so many times and we have never experienced this. The waiter himself was also originally from a diffrent counrty but i think he has some issues with the counrty that we are from. First of all when he came to the table my husband asked for a wine list and he said you will ask for that later let me get what you want to eat. Then when i asked about a vegetable on the menu he gave a smart answer. He said I need to experience different tastes from different cusines and leave just eating my trafitional food aside. I was shocked with his answer but I chose not to be on the same level as he was! Then when my husband asked for the wine list again then he said leave that to me I will bring a glass of wine for you. Then he brought 2 glasses of the house wine which was ok but the attitude was terrible. Then we wanted to have a bottle of wine and again with the same smart mouth attitude he gave us a lecture by saying we should never ask for a house wine if we want a quality wine. First we did not ask for a house wine and secondly we had had house wines that were very delicious before. And at the end of the meal first we didn’t want to have a dessert but then wanted to see the menu. And this time again with his smart mouth attitude he told me those desserts are way different from the desserts that we are used to eat back home. I do not want to either write your name or your nation mr smart mouth waiter but you need to bring yourself together to be a better person! We have been to many countries probably close to your age and have never experienced this type of attitude! I do not want to under score this beautiful restaurant because of his lack of personality! But I hope the people eho visits this restaurant mever have to put up with this man!!!"

"Authentic and indulgent. Food is great, atmosphere is enjoyable. Small dining room so there isn't a lot of noise and feeling overcrowded. Ate there in 2003, hadn't been back to St.Augustine until now. We specifically looked for this place to eat here again. Just as good as we remembered."

"There were only three of us, but there was an error with one of the drinks. I had asked for the salad dressing on the side, but it came already on the salad. The wait time for our food was excessively long. However, the meal itself was good. Overall, I won't be returning."

"We are moving to Florida and wanted to get some good NY pizza before we go and my boyfriend found this place he grabbed a quick slice and came home raving about it! So we ordered the Wednesday Sicilian pie special, oh boy it was one of the best I’ve ever had! It was very lite not too thick the sauce is delicious I like extra sauce perfect amount of cheese , the crust was crunchy but lite as a feather! I don’t know how they did that! Something with the dough it’s a secret! You can taste the fermented taste in a good way if you know about dough making . They know what they are doing! I like it better than L&B Delicious 5"

"This used to be one of my favorite places to have lunch, but the quality has gone down over the past few years. I mean, it's not a bad place, but it was once much better than it is today. The food quality is noticeably less palatable than it was when I used to live out here. I wish the staff paid more attention to their surroundings, because I had to repeatedly ask for my waiter, but he was too busy talking to another one. I have enough good memories of this place to say that I would definitely come back, but I expect the management to inculcate into their wait staff a better appreciation of their customers."

"The rudest staff! Went with my family of 4 sat, used the restroom then reviewed the menu and all items wereover $25, out of my budget. Apologized to the waitress who then became irate yelling that we came only to use the bathroom and we were never allowed back. We were shocked at her behavior. We should have known better when the restaurant was empty. Avoid at all costs!!"
