"We wanted to try this place for a while. While it was my first time in Il Toscano, I am very familiar with the situation; it used to be a French cafe/restaurant/bakery, and I had been there several times. The Plaza is quite far west on Pines Blvd, so it is quiet and not hard visited great for a pleasant dining experience, although probably not so great for a restaurant profits. The restaurant has a cute terrace with seating where we sat; it is very refreshing and pleasant to sit here on a dry, cool evening. The interior is very spacious and aesthetically also pleasant. It is traditional and stylish in decor. The waitress who served us was very friendly and helpful with suggestions, although there were some long routes where we were left out too long without employees coming to help us. It wasn't a busy night. The food was expensive, but not remarkable. It was good, just not good enough to justify the price on Entrees. Dessert was great, but wow, so big portions! We wouldn't visit it high on the list of places, but it's a decent place, and we can check it again if the weather is cool as we really like the location. They also regularly host comedy events. We've never been, but it could be worth checking. It is a good way for the restaurant to contribute to the vibrating of the West Pines community and make even more shops."
