"We moved to SF from the east bay many years ago so don't get to CP as often as we used to. We did go for dinner several months ago and were disappointed with a lackluster meal. But at the request of out of town guests we went back today for lunch and had the kind of meal that made this iconic place a longtime favorite. Every course we each had was fantastic....in creativity, presentation, and most of all flavor. Everything about our lunch was as good as it gets. Now we'll make a point of getting back there more often as few if any places in the City come close."

"The dining room was unusually quiet, as many visitors had cancelled plans due to all the smoke in the air from the region's enormous wildfires. That made it especially cozy and easy to chat with a couple in the booth next to us. Food was very good, especially the lamb shank. Good service."

"I absolutely adore Barley Board! The rustic decor adds a charming touch, and the food is exceptional. Every visit is a delightful experience. Although it can be a bit pricey, we usually reserve it for special occasions, and it's definitely worth it. One of my favorites is the Mother Board tray, which features an amazing selection of cheeses and cured meats. The Parisian Gnocchi is the best I've ever tasted, perfectly complemented by fresh vegetables, herbs, and parmesan. Sunday brunch is also a fantastic time to visit, with fun drink specials, including a variety of champagnes."
