"Mediterranean/Middle Eastern cuisine holds a special place in my heart, as not only the food I was raised, but also as one of the effortless vegan friendly cuisine in the world. Although there is a wide range of upcoming cruelty-free options from this part of the world, few restaurants use this fact and not to introduce many of these dishes to the American standard. And here comes Kabab El Basha. Kabab El Basha, especially Egyptian influence, is one of the first Mediterranean places where I was in the IE, more than just your standard hummus/falafel combo (not that I don't love it). In addition to these two articles, there are also options of Spinat cake, a vegan moussaka, Mohammara, Potato Maza (which has my heart), and so much more clearly marked than vegan, so there is no confusion. In fact, there are so many vegan options on this menu that there are actually some that are vegan, but the label lacks (I have double checked to be safe). I will admit that the food is a tad more expensive than some similar restaurants in the area and the waiting period can be a little long sometimes, but the food is well worth it and while you wait, I highly recommend to browse your business that offers all kinds of treats from this region. For me personally, nothing of this is a problem because it is one of the only places to find genuine flavors and unique dishes that are otherwise difficult to find, and all, while expertly prepared and full of high quality vegetables and hand-selected spices. One of my favorites in Riverside and just gets all four of my stars."
