"Every item I've ordered has been delicious. The biggest treat for me is their cheese grits. I order them anywhere that has them and these are the best. When I can splurge, I go for their fried chicken with biscuits and gravy. The skin is crispy while the meat is hot and juicy. The biscuits are a bit doughlike but not at all a negative it's akin to the doughiness of eating the top of a pot pie. And the duck sausage gravy is droolworthy. Their specials are also good, too. I recently had the brown butter tart and it's so good by having a natural sweetness without being cloying. The ambiance is basic clean and minimalist. The sound level can go up because there is no padding and it's just a wood banquette, tables and chairs but it's fine.My only complaint is that I've found the coffee and teas to be lacking. Just not enough flavor in the coffee and the teas have an odd flavoring for being a basic black China tea or the chai.It's really a gem in Mar Vista"
