"As far as 'inexpensive Mexican ' food goes, this is absolutely head and shoulders above all the other similar places. The food is just way better. Unless you go to a high end Mexican place (and there aren 't many of them), you will not find food this good or even comparable. We eat at several Mexican joints around Birmingham and they are cheap, fast, and reasonably good. But Lindo is in another league for food quality. As far as higher-end Mexican goes, there is Little Donkey, if you call them Mexican. I call them more like Tex Mex barbecue fusion or something like that. They are fantastic and well worth a visit. But for straight ahead Mexican, Lindo is tops. They cost a little bit more. You won 't find the $6 lunch plate like at some places, but there 's a reason for that. The food is too good for that price point and the extra couple bucks is well worth it."
