"Great location with a great location with a deck on the water you can hear the river washing on the sand. The food is very good, I would give the crab cake four out of five stars. The receptionist was somewhat less than a bit disappointing for such a high caliber place. The waiter was good and reasonable attentive. My father got a hamburger, I got a crabcake and a glass of wine my father had with iced tea, and I think the bill was about 35 bucks."

"Went for the Russian tea experience. Compared to other options in Portland, the food bites are definitely more flavorful and hearty, though there were a couple misses. Otherwise the tea, service, and ambiance pail in comparison to, for example, Hotel deLuxe. It's very distracting having the seating be in a shared space, and a ton of people kept coming through with their children to take photos in front of the Christmas tree. The wait staff seemed to make minimal effort to keep the noise down and not bang plates, silverware, and teapots together. We also had to ask for hot water every single time we needed more."

"I had an incredible experience at this restaurant! I definitely plan on returning. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were all outstanding. "We had a roof terrace reservation and sat immediately. For a starter we shared the Maple Bacon Crullers. The crossers were light and had a sweet cinnamon butter taste, which was a great base for the maple frozen and bacon above. Our Entrees were the Black Sheep Club with Pommes and (2) steak and eggs. The club sandwich was huge, but my daughter enjoyed every bite. Our steaks and eggs were cooked and perfectly seasoned. The captivating potatoes were delicious from the softening of the Buerre Rouge. Every part of our culinary experience here was excellent. The ambience, food and service will be back soon."

"First time here with the band Whatever We Are, it’s like an English Pub, great music, two sides: one side has dim lighting and the bar and one where it could be for a family dinner near the kitchen. Seats are awesomely comfy. Bathroom is clean! Waitress is on point with refilling drinks, even hot drinks. Outfits are finesse. Great service overall!"

"We are staying in the hotel where this restaurant is located. When we checked in, our room was not ready, so we went next door to grab a drink and snack. We sat at the bar, with our service dog, and ordered drinks and an appetizer. The drinks were served. The manager came over and told us the dog could not stay because it did not have a vest on. It had its service dog tags, leash, and certification. He kept insisting this was law. It is NOT. We looked up NY laws around service dogs and there was no such requirement. We were in compliance. We will never return to this place despite staying for a week at the hotel, which is where we always stay in our frequent visits to NY. RUDE man."

"I’ve been going to Towne Hall for years both lunch and dinner and private parties. Usually it’s an above average experience but unfortunately not the last two times. The lunch serving took excessively long, over 2 hrs, waiter barely ever came back to the table,...no bread was offered, no dessert was offered even though it’s included in table dhote, both times had to ask for both. When we didn’t want to take the seafood platter as an entry we got a look as if we were cheap and the waiters excitement diminished. The food itself was average with smaller portions than normal. Sadly it is the end of the line, won’t be coming back as there are many other viable alternatives that want my business."

"For me it’s a 4.7, but we have to give it a 5 because some of y’all can’t appreciate an excellent offering. 4.3?! We only look at restaurants 4.5+ and we almost missed this beauty. Food bomb, service immaculate, vibe stupid, drinks excellent, spacious, attentive, and we will say ETCETERA. If I had to knock this place just a touch, coming from NYC you know, the pacing is a bit fast. We were done with the meal in an hour. We would’ve liked to marinate in here for a bit longer, but that’s what the excellent bar is for. Don’t believe the 4.3 mid hype, excellent excellent value. And I’m from NYC so you know the deal.
