"Roy's is an excellent restaurant in terms of both atmosphere and food. The restaurant has a section for quick take-out food at a cheaper price and a sit-down area for a more formal meal. The entrees on the menu are around the $20 range which is excellent for the large portion sizes. The food itself was delicious and very flavorful. Expect to leave feeling very full! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone."

"The food here is always fresh and delicious. Prices are still reasonable, although they have been slightly increased since the beginning of the pandemic. The staff is always friendly and friendly. There are only 3 tables with 4 seats, as the place is small. If you are looking for comfort food as made at home, this is the place for you."

"Ordered the stew chicken with rice and beans (separated. It was VERY EXPENSIVE. The restaurant included a menu with my order and the price of the stew chicken is not even listed. I wouldn't care if the food was on point but the chicken was flavorless,greasy and had a bunch of big chunks of onions and sweet pepper as fillers. Mmm I don't know about this place. Maybe I caughtthem on a bad day."

"Update 2022They really improved things. The Caribbean chicken is still good but they're using smaller pieces then they used to. The rice with pigeon peas is excellent. Service is a lot better. The beef stew is soft now but it doesn't have a lot of vinegar like carribean food usually does.update 9/2019My last 3 delivery experiences were terrible. I received plaintain raw still part pink inside, i eat green Banana (guinero) often this times it seems like it was slow cool boiled not water. I requested garlic for the tostones when I recieved my delivery I was told I had to pay $1 for that. Why not just charge it as a side. Plus I only needed 1 which would have been .50 cents. the meat was excellent. I think the issue is on Sundays Mexican workers may mot be familiar with caribbean cuisine. Its an issue in a lot of Dominican places in the Bronx, Sunday food is not as good. There is a smart mouth Dominican guy every time I speak with him I know there is going to be a problem. I called to check of my order was received he could have just told me to come down with an extra dollar. I locked myself out accidentally to get the food they never ring a bell no matter how much the tip or how many parking spaces. the tostones were replaced with more raw and oily soggy plantain.Nicer atmosphere than many for dinner to sit in. But like most food is a a little inconsistent. Today my half roasted chicken is usually dry. Today it was not. My experience is to avoid the beef guisado... dry. I often get the caribbean chicken. Its usually the safest consistency. Better than Steven's (sorry).UPDATE: 11/13/18 I appreciate the owner response. I look forward to going there more and trying more food. I had stopped going there for like a year. So maybe everything not just the chicken has improved. I look forward to changing this review in the near future...now that I have had 2 great dishes recently."

"All prices blacked out on the menu… which should have been my cue not to try to order here, but the rotisserie chickens in the window looked so delicious and I was eager to try Dominican food. Once inside, staff made a big show of ignoring me/serving others before taking my order and my cash and then 15 minutes later, after efficiently serving several other customers, giving me the cash back and saying Sorry, Sorry! they didn’t have what I ordered. So, it looked good, but the staff sent a message they didn’t want me to be their customer in a humiliating and deliberately annoying way. Happily, found Industry City a few blocks away with plenty of fun foodie options and no weird vibes."

"This restaraunt has a backyard behind my house. In the backyard, there is a lot of garbage and they're not in bags nor in the garbage bins but instead is on the ground. Because of that, there are a lot of rats and they're grey and medium sized. Plus, there are a lot of huge waterbugs, even the flying type and it smells in the backyard, too. The people working in the restaraunt don't even have any masks on. I called 311 and no one did anything. I can't open my window or the door to my backyard because this allows the insects and even the rats to get in my house. At night, you can hear the rats squeaking and screaming in the backyard."

"I had the worst customer service experience ever. When I placed my order, someone else arrived and was served first, as if I didn't even exist. The cashier seemed oblivious to my presence and continued to process others ahead of me. I ended up waiting for 1.5 hours just for three whole chickens. It felt like the staff prioritized certain customers they knew while disregarding others. It was an incredibly frustrating experience, and I couldn’t help but feel it was unfair treatment."

"Food is everything to order, food was delicious and authentic! Service was hard, it seemed like the main waitress trained the other Gal, which seemed slightly rude and unpleasant. So we didn't get any refills on our drinks, we had ordered a side plate of avocados and were charged for it, but never received. We're definitely going back."
