"I definitely recommend Cannella's. There were four of us in our party and we arrived early. The hostess seated us and our server was very attentive and helpful. The bar and wine selection is excellent. My daughter had an Italian soda that she loved. The meal portions are hearty, so feel free to split a meal (especially if you order appetizers). The restaurant is larger than it appears from the outside and they are able to accommodate large parties; we happened to be there on prom night and there were lots of high school students there. I was impressed by how quickly the staff moved these huge parties in and out. Know that you don't have to rush your time at the restaurant; they are happy to have you take your time and enjoy the evening."

"This is our go to Italian restaurant. Far better than any spot in San Diego we?ve been to! From the Cesar salad (definitely add salmon or shrimp! with the exquisite dressing to the eggplant parm or lasagna, the food is absolutely excellent. The service is fantastic. Attention to detail in their menu and ambiance leaves nothing to be desired. Highly recommended. We have been here many times over the years and are never disappointed!"

"Had lunch with a small group of friends. The service was friendly and appropriate i.e. not too rushed and not too slow. Everyone at my table enjoyed their lunches which included a mushroom dish, rolatini and a Caprice sandwich. Can’t remember the fourth entree. This was the third time I’ve eaten there and each time was excellent. "

"Stopped in after a little suggestion by Trip Advisor. Ordered food to go along with a growler. The Hefe was very smooth. So yummy! Everyone liked their food and I was really surprised at how delicious the mushroom soup was. Food was prompt and on time. Workers easy to chat with and friendly."

"Three of us had dinner on 7/8/23. Martinis were OK. Calamari was good. Beet salad was very good as well as the house salad with grilled shrimp. We also ordered pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, and basil on it. Came with only pepperoni. Either the server or kitchen forgot to put mushrooms and basil on it. Since our son had limited time (had to go back to USS Bataan), we did not ask for another pizza."

"UPDATE 08/04/18. I have to change my review. At some point between my last review and this one I've had the pleasure of having Veronica as my server. She is AMAZING! We eat at Espo's at least twice a month and always request Veronica if she's working. Luckily she usually is. She is a gem and has redeemed my faith in customer service at Espo's. The food is excellent and so is Veronica. Hang on to her! We went on a Saturday night and they were very busy. We were told a 35min wait which was fine. Apparently you can call ahead to get your name on the wait list. One party was not there when their name was called so they moved to the next name on the list. Ten minutes later the missing party shows up. By now we had been waiting over 35min. Instead of putting the person's name at the end of the list, they gave them the next table! Unfair to those of us who had been standing there waiting for our table. We finally were seated. When the waitress brought the bread we placed our order(2 of us). She eventually brought our drinks and salads. Long after we were done we still had no meals and no sight of our server. Other people that were seated after us were already eating their meals. I finally asked another server who had been very attentive to her tables to send our server. When she eventually arrived she brought our food. At that point I asked for to go boxes and our check not knowing how long it would be before she'd be back. By the time she came to get the check we were done eating, packed leftovers and still had to wait. I have always loved Espos. It was an unfortunate experience. The food was excellent and staff pleasant however, for some reason, we were invisible."

"Support family, local businesses. Terrific service. Dined in and ordered the eggplant parm and a side salad (two sizes to choose from on both) and he the flatbread pizza. The parm was delicious. The flatbread is nice to have if you aren’t real hungry, otherwise you’d need a side to fill you up. They have clean restrooms, self serve drinks, desserts, huge parking lot, outdoor and indoor dining."

"My cousin took my mother and me to this restaurant last week. The thin slices of pizza were ideal: you could enjoy the crispy crust along with the light crumbs as you took a bite. The sauce was fantastic—not overly seasoned, with the perfect consistency and just the right amount. The grandma slices were just as delicious as the ones I love from Tommy’s. They were slightly sweeter and had a lot of basil, with a thicker crust that was still light and not heavy or dense. In just six days, I had five pizzas, and Luigi was the spot for two of those visits. I can honestly say I wish I could have gone there four times instead!"
