"Headed up A1A after spending a couple of days at a high end golfing resort (not our cup of tea but there for business).... going to hang out on Amelia Island for a few days... it 's Sunday morning and my wife wants breakfast and some eggs.... everything is strip malls, fast food and chains.... then by chance we see the '3rd street '... looks interesting, number of cars in the lot and an open sign: older lady shows us to our booth... did take a few minutes longer than I prefer for a server to come but then out beverages came pretty fast and the food took about 10 minutes... but was outstanding, I had steak and eggs, the steak would have been disappointing for an evening meal but was fine for breakfast (thin) but was actually cooked medium rare the way I asked... interesting note... wife ordered rye toast, I ordered wheat and it came on one plate but the server (waitress) set in down with the breads facing the right way. Wife 's **** mary was top of the line.... seemed to be a local place on the main road to us... no one yelled at the help either.... would go back if near there. Oh, the grits were outstanding too... not some yankeefied instant, but real. Place seemed exceptionally clean for a local diner to me."

"there are 2 nights as we had the food package. the food was good, but the service was missing. we waited a long time for drinks in the bar area and I asked for coffee with dessert and never got it. the second night did not eat in the bar area and had the tomatenbisque, which was delicious, but very filled, so asked to bring a container home. I asked 3 times and all three times was said that it would come, but never. also ordered coffee with dessert and it never came again. no coffee and no container before we're gone. the food was good, but the service was missing."

"The experience was absolutely terrible from the moment we got there. First we had to find the host ourselves. I had a party of 20 people and the tables were not even ready even though the restaurant was empty. Our server was very forgetful and had an attitude when we asked him for condiments that came with our meals. Silverware was not on the table, we waited over 30 min for champagne glasses and our drinks. The coffee a friend ordered was cold, everyone’s food was also cold but at that point we were so over it we ate anyways. Oh by the way the food was absolutely terrible. The pork chop was nasty, the waffles were dry, even the eggs were trash. Luckily we were all so happy to see each other we enjoyed ourselves. But this was absolutely the worst experience of my life. The worst part is a lot of us at the table have been servers or hosts ourselves so we were very unimpressed and disappointed in the quality of service. We would never treat our customers this way. We still tipped him again even though gratuity was included because we know how it is. However , hopefully he will read this review and learn from this. You cannot be unorganized and treat people like they don’t matter."

"So I found this restaurant on best local breakfast. I had the A la carte bacon, cheese grits and home fried potatoes. The breakfast was hot and amazing. The flatware wasn't the cleanest, but the server was friendly. You can see the cook making your meal if you sit by the bar and the food came fast. It was quiet when I went but the area is calm and quiet."

"Definitely stop here when you are in town! This is probably one of the last family restaurants in house style. The food is always fresh and the portions are right! Staff are going out to make sure you're happy. The toilets are clean. They only take cash and local controls."

"I loved this place!! Located in historical downtown Nacogdoches it has the small town mom and pop dinner feel but with a higher calibre environment and cleanliness. I went for the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans which was spectacularly done in a traditional way but with a fine twist on the gravy which was actually a breakfast sausage gravy and surprisingly worked well to elevate my meal to the next level of flavor explosion. Highly recommended if you have never been. "

"I came to Portland for 2 weeks, and I'm sad I didn't discover this place earlier. Kells reminds me of the grander Irish pubs back home in New England, except that the food here is better.Ambiance is classic Irish pub, with a fantastic array of scotch, old school decor. Gotta love the older Irish gents at nearby tables, gathered around their brews, laughing at jokes they've probably told each other at least 13 times, yet laugh like it's their first time hearing it.Have to give a fantastic shout out to their sausage roll (the gravy is such a magical touch), and the amazeballs bangers and mash. It's been a while since I've had bangers that taste like the old country, and Kells did the ancestors proud! It went perfectly with the Guinness stout I ordered.Looking forward to more visits upon my return to Portland!"

The food is always first rate. Service can be slow because they don’t (can’t) hire enough servers. It’s a very busy and provides for an lively atmosphere. Easy to get to and never a disappointment."
