"we made a reservation for 7:30 on Friday night. the restaurant is quite small and when we went to the house, it was extremely loud. we told the host, we had a reservation and he went on the back to clean a table for 2 (without looking at a computer or a list to confirm our name). there were two empty tables in the front, so we asked if we could sit there. they said these tables were for reservations. I told him I had a reservation and they still said we couldn't sit there. they then brought us to the back of the restaurant to our table, which literally lay opposite the bathroom and directly in front of the kitchen. you could smell piniensole and other cleaning supplies from the table. the table was so far behind that the whole vibe was different from the rest of the restaurant. we asked if we could sit in the front (one more time) because we didn't want to sit in front of the bathroom and they offered us a place at the bar. mesa azteca should really understand that when people take the time to make a reservation for a special occasion and beautiful evening dinner, they are not sitting in the worst sitting throughout the restaurant and if they have not space to accommodate all their parachutes with an acceptable experience, then do not offer a certain capacity. the table in which they wanted to put us should be stored for a walk in customers or for no one if they really want their patrons to return. after the third attempt to move our places, we went out of the restaurant. meza azteca lost customers who made reservations that appeared on the time, and nicely asked to sit to save all the other tables for reservations that did not even appear (they were not there at the time when we arrived). I will never return and I recommend that other diners specify the seat settings when booking."

"Provenance was a revelation to me. Mostly because I had never been there. Last Thursday, I went after an early afternoon appointment, arriving at about 3:15 p.m., just in time for the start of their Happy Hour. While I waited for a friend to arrive, I ordered the spot-on pork potstickers, and the pesto, bacon and feta cheese French fries. The potstickers should not be missed for as long as they have them, if you like crispy, succulent, and perfectly non-greasy ones. (I do! My one only criticism about the fries was they struck me as ascetically dry, perhaps the chef abhors greasy food? This is not a problem, by any means, in my book. However, I also missed a pinch of salt, but the longer I kept eating the fries, the less I missed the salt b/c the pesto, bacon and feta were right there to help me w/ my gustatory needs. I also tried a fabulous butter lettuce salad w/ a raspberry vinaigrette, crispy, blanched, sliced almonds, matchsticks of green apple (plenty! , and surely other ingredients I can 't remember. But who cares, when all of the prior ingredients were there and exquisitely good. As for drinks, well...Grant (aka Jesus w/ a 'Hay ' , is clearly capable of preparing almost anything your heart brain desires, but why bother when they have mixed drink specials to try which are perfectly conjured up magically recreated before your very eyes, if you are wise enough to sit at the bar. I had something wonderfully refreshing and summery involving huckleberries, a flavored vodka, mint, and a pipette of crème de cassis liqueur. It was delicious AND fun to drink. Go to Provenance!"
