"the evening was an uncanny experience. I've been to ruth's chris before. it's almost always busy, loud and tasty. this time it was just delicious. it was Tuesday, 10 March. Corona virus was suspected to penetrate the bay area. Although a few weeks from the inclusion, san francisco approached the recipe, and people already left their lively restaurant scene. when we arrived in rc, there were only four people at the bar and two deuces occupied in the front dining room. the two of us were shown at a stand in the back dining room, where we were the only diners for about half an hour when a party of two couples was shown. I've never experienced the dining room to be so calm. it was a joy, but it was the right thing from the wrong ground. the dinner was as usual excellent and we could not remember, except for a few very late dinners there when the restaurant had allowed us such a comfortable conversation. it would be wonderful if it were to be like that every time we go there, but not from the terrible reason it was. Anyway, to loud restaurants are ubiquitous san fransisco fluch. the waiting staff was really wonderful, but a distinctive aura of care. How much longer would they have jobs? would they be able to provide their families? what could happen with the restaurant and their jobs if the virus visit was an extended one? unsafe was a definitiw in our night out. we left a very generous tipp. there were a few more people at the bar and two more couples in the front dining room when we were gone. but in the back dining room was no longer space. among the many, many restaurants in san francisco there are several who settle themselves as steak houses. some are in order, some are good, a mere, more handful ascent over the other. we hope they will all survive, but we have no idea when we can return."

"For my mother's lunch with my wife and my children. Sit very fast on a nice table and see no server for 10 minutes. When a server approached, she mentioned that our server was busy and would get our drinks, which was not a problem. It took another 12 minutes to get you orange juices and a coffee from our actual server. Then she took our order without writing it, and disappeared without asking if the other guest at our table wanted a drink as they were left out of the original beverage order. So we wait for 45 minutes. No server in sight. No food status drop-ins. No refills. No attention. Our order was simple, children pancakes, avocado toast and an American breakfast. Another table that sat 15 minutes after us had their orders before, but no server again to even ask for status. The food finally came, and our order was completely wrong (Avocado Toast came back as steak wrap, American breakfast was a hash brown and egg). At that time we were so hungry that we took what we were presented. But the toast never came, the side of the hash browns never came, the fruit peels (part of pancakes) came in spores. We came with very high expectations and were unfortunately quite disappointed. We chose not to follow the buffet because it was no different from the menu items if there was a little less variety. I really hope we were the one-off, because if that's normal, that would be a embarrassment."

"I just don 't get all the positive reviews. The plating presentation and especially the prices say elegant, but um no. The restaurant is situated outside on one end of a large hotel pool but it 's trying to be elegant, and poolside with the kids running around is no place for an elegant expensive meal. There 's also an inside area, but it kind of feels like they put tables in a wide hallway between the pool and the stairways... again, hardly elegant. The hotel as a whole the Ritz Carlton and the restaurant in particular seems like it 's a shell of what it perhaps used to be, and you just get the impression that it 's trying to be something it just isn 't. The service was terribly slow it took almost 30 minutes to see our drinks, and at 50 minutes in, we didn 't yet have our appetizers and the server gave us reasons and excuses but no apologies, and it didn 't get any better after we mentioned it. I ordered Cobia off the MIAMI SPICE menu a regional prix fixe deal and the serving was very small... my brother ordered Sea Bass off the regular menu and the serving was easily FOUR TIMES the size and Sea Bass isn 't cheap , so I suspect the prix fixe meals are smaller supported by the tiny tiny piece of Key Lime Tart that was the prix fixe dessert. My wife got the prix fixe pasta, which was a generous portion, but it 's pasta so they can give that away . Oh, and the cocktails start at $17 $14 for a glass of wine !! Oh, and they added 18% to our check without mentioning it for a party of three?!? . Dinner for three with 2 of us getting the prix fixe bargain and 3 cocktails and 1 glass of wine between us was $270!! YIKES! What a waste."
