"The food was okay, service was terrible and I waited for my food for thirty minutes past the time they told me to come pick it up. I went home, ate my food and a few hours later proceeded to vomit and become sick for multiple days. I went to the ER andthey told me it was food poising where it was pinned down to my meal at Hunan King. This is the worst restaurant in Blacksburgand going here will most defiantly expose you to potential food poising. I will never be coming back here and have alreadywarned every individual of every organization that I am involved with that Hunan King will give them terrible food poising.Please avoid this restaurant at all costs."

"Been a few years since we had Yen Ching. Decided to try it a couple days ago and we weren't big fans of the food. The Mongolion Pork was so dry, tough, and chewy that every bite we were afraid we were going to choke. The chicken fried rice wasso bland. The chicken pieces in the fried rice were bright white meaning they cooked it separately with absolutely no seasoningand then through the chicken into the fried rice after cooking. The Egg Fu Young was actually cooked very well and so was theKung Pao chicken. We may eat here again in the future but only if we have a craving on a day where our regular Chinese Foodplace is closed (Tuesdays)."

"I was picking up my order so I went in the restaurant. The guy behind the counter kicked me out without asking why I'm there. I waited 10min. I checked the app in my phone. It said my order was ready 20min ago. I called the restaurant to verify with themif my order is ready. They said yes. I said then why did you kick me out. I got my food and drove home (30 minutes). I got homeand passed out everybody's food. Mine was missing... I called them up and they said sorry I'll make it for you now. So 15minthere and 15min back, everyone has finished their food and going home. I have ordered here before. This will be the last time."

That is really bad.The interior of the waiting area was just run down and old and nasty. I'm sure they are trying but I just can't stand buying food from a dirty place. "Food This is my favorite Chinese Hunan restaurant in Boston area and I’ve come here multiple times even since I found it. Also, I haven’t been to any other Hunan restaurants in Boston ever since. The food is phenomenal. Our must orders are scallion pancake with braised beef, spicy chicken wings, spicy diced chicken, and cabbage dry pot. They have a seasonal lamb dish 滋补羊肉煲 that has become my go-to as well. Everything else The service is very good comparing to all other Chinese restaurants. The surprising thing is the waitresses seem to be able to speak English, mandarin and Cantonese. The decor is very classy as well."

"two times. once for dinner and another for lunch. they have a very large selection of food that is great when they want to change it. the pictures are their lunch special portions. 3 roll sushi for $13! that is a deal! had the shrimp tempora, the green flow and the salmon skin rolls, the gyosa and the tsos chicken, a go-to everywhere I go. the lunch specialties also came with ingwersalat. her ingwersalat has a bit of a kick from the ingwer. the last time I left, I had added the Manhattan role (to the favorite list) and hibachi steak. from garnishing and presentation to portion size and taste, I recommend! my only grip would not be with them, but with the city water sucks the city water. others with whom I ate did not notice, but I can smell or taste through some of the elements of the whistle on the poor city water. "I was a little skeptical that there was a Chinese restaurant in an Asian supermarket, but after good reviews on Yelp minus the few rippers I wanted to give it a shot. We went and ordered inside before we started shopping (which was very comfortable by the way). And they were basically done by the time we paid for our food and loaded into the truck. The inside of the restaurant looked clean. The ladies who worked there were very fast and efficient. I ordered a sweet and sour chicken that was really good. The sauce wasn't like any other one I tried in a good way. Your chicken lo mine was great!! The noodles were not cooked. The chicken was beautiful and tender. And it was not excessively salty as most Chinese places are. And last but not least, the General Tso chicken was the best I ever had. I always order a general Tso chicken in a Chinese restaurant to predict how the other meals would be and don't get disappointed. I wanted extra sharp and it was perfect. I think I've found my Chinese stain and stick to it! Here's WORTH every penny! And their lunch special prices are more than affordable."

"I have a double combination of garlic pork and pepper steak. Also an appetizer of the cold noodle with sesame sauce. The portion sizes were huge. They give sooo a lot of food. I couldn't finish it for a meal. The pepper steak was very tasteful and garlic pork very sharp. The double comb came with chicken roast rice and it was a good amount of chicken and rice. Overall, the food was great and I had a great experience. Will definitely come back."

"Kids wanted Chinese, but wanted take out. Decided upon Shanghai Village downtown. Online ordering a breeze and said 10 minutes before food would be ready. By the time I got there to get the food it was ready and back home I went. First getting food here and it was really good. Liked their to go boxes. Not styrofoam. Food was hot and full of flavor. Portion size was big. Kids commented how good the egg drop soup was. Seems to be our new last minute Chinese food stop."

"This place is under new ownership. Ordered crab Rangoon, egg rolls and some BBQ pork fried rice. The Rangoon was good but they weren't filled, maybe a tsp of filling and crust was very hard. The egg rolls were ok. The rice wasn't the greatest, novegetables, just sprouts and green onions. Barely any eggs and super greasy. And there was no BBQ on the pork even though themenu stated BBQ. I don't know if the quality was because I ordered 40 mins before closing.... I'll try again maybe....hopefullyI get a better result. But not anytime soon."
