"My hubby took me to Songbird for brunch during our first time in St Louis and this brunch place is such a gem! First of all, most brunch places don't take reservations (especially in LA so kudos to Songbird for taking reservations! We came here on a Thursday at about 1pm and it was a full house. Parking was hard to find but you can park at the College of Health Careers lot off of Taylor and Choteau, there's a blue sign. Our waitress, Taylor, was very friendly and attentive and she did an awesome job recommending things to try on our first visit. For drinks, we got the Flat White with honey lavender, fresh grapefruit juice, and the chicken bone broth. Oh my! Starting off brunch with bone broth was delightful! So soothing and flavorful. My Flat White was also made exactly the way I like extra hot with a balance of espresso and steamed milk with a subtle sweetness from their in house honey lavender syrup. For food, we tried the Combo Breakfast Sandwich, Lox Bagel, Poppyseed Loaf (GF , Farm Toast (with apple , and the Pear salad. The Combo Sandwich was really tasty, my hubby asked for a side of pickled onions and I thought it helped cut through the buttery and richness of the sandwich. The Lox Bagel came on bialy which is basically a bagel without a hole and it was flatter which I enjoyed as it was less dense and more balanced with the rest of the fixins. The smoked salmon was really nice but I thought the hard boiled eggs inside the sandwich was a little crumbly and messy. Farm toast with apple was yummy, a little on the sweet side as was the Poppyseed Loaf and the Pear Salad was nice a refreshing.Overall, it was a delicious and comforting brunch with a sweet and cozy atmosphere that encourages good conversations and catch ups. The staff were very friendly and helpful through and through definitely felt the Midwest hospitality! We would come back the next time we visit St Louis :"
