"On other review sites my specialty is Indian restaurants worldwide and this is one of the best I have found anywhere. It is relatively new but everything we sampled was at the very top of its form. The care given to preparation led me to believe that this place might be run by Nepalis as I find trans-Himalayan places generally a cut above the average Indian place. They are usually run by Punjabis who have a tendency to use excess amounts of ghee which often suppresses other flavors. No such treatment here. We tried chana saag, methi mattar, a creamy preparation of peas and minced methi leaves, a perfumed biryani that was clearly baked (as it should be) rather than made in a pan, an onion paratha the equal of which I have never had even in India (and I go twice a year) and some badam halvah that was just dreamy. It had obviously been long cooked, as it should be. If you are in the West Village and peckish for Indian go go go."
