"I ordered takeout and went few minutes after the pickup time. The manager (a woman in formal clothing) was at the cashier and I paid. She doesn't say anything whether the order is ready or when it will be ready. Someone else came to pickup...food, so I stepped to the side. I waited and waited patiently. Around 4 minutes passed, the manager wasn't doing much in that time. And she clearly saw me waiting but didn't say anything and just ignored me. Then she passed me and went elsewhere. Another waiter came and asked what I ordered and picked up a bag that was just sitting there on the COUNTER behind cashier this WHOLE TIME and handed it to me. Come on, the manager was so ignorant. How could she miss it? Everytime we go, she doesn't greet, not even a smile. Won't go back. Too bad because the food was decent. I am telling my friends and neighbours to avoid this place unless they want terrible service."

"My favorite sushi spot in the state. Been going for a long time and I’ve never had a bad experience. I suggest sitting at the sushi bar. The dynamite hand roll, Lianne and Screaming Spicy are my three favorites. If you are in a hurry and they are busy this may not be the spot for you as there is limited staff and guests are not rushed through their meals and nor is the food."

"We order take-out from Wasa ALL the time. Their sushi and sashimi is usually excellent. This time we decided to eat there and the chicken teriyaki was terrible! We seemed to remember that from another time. It was tasteless and dry. The miso soup was watery and the shrimp tempura was nothing special. We are very disappointed."

"Friendly, dedicated and delicious. Saved our night! We had planned to go to another Japanese restaurant just a few steps further but ou reservation had not been honoured. Such a Luck! Momiji staff was attentive and friendly. The food was succulent. I particularly recommend the sukiyaki. I highly recommand this establishment where the Chef gives everything to satisfy his customer. "Our regular server, Bao, is truly remarkable. She greets us every week with warmth, remembers our family's preferences, and always has a smile on her face. We need more wonderful neighborhood spots like this in the Bellaire/WestU area, and it's important to support those that consistently excel. Recently, they've introduced an all-day happy hour menu, offering lower prices without compromising quality. I strongly encourage anyone who enjoys great sushi and wants to support local businesses to visit Osaka. I’ve also noticed some other reviews that weren't as positive. While I can't speak for those individuals, I find some of their claims hard to believe. Having dined here over a hundred times (I even had them cater a party, and they did a fantastic job), I’ve never witnessed any of the negative experiences others have described. Trust someone who frequents this restaurant—give it a try, and I promise you won’t be disappointed!"

"I warned my family that the Japanese food we get in California is generally pretty good and better than we can get elsewhere. The food here was on par with what we’re used or better.The tempura seemed slightly below average, but the black cod was excellent and plentiful with a generous portion of asparagus, the sashimi platter was quite good (hamachi was the winner there), and the lava cake with ice cream for dessert was a nice surprise.I was a little surprised to be offered white or brown rice, but the brown rice ended up being what I’ve come to know as Korean multigrain or purple rice. I also love me some hamachi kama (yellowtail collar), but apparently the last one went to the party before we arrived on a Friday night at 7p. It was recommended that we ask to reserve one when making our reservation. Now we know. :)Fantastic service and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone."
