"My 'gripes ' are only minimal so I only deducted one star. But here they are for the interested reader: (1) I called the restaurant prior to booking my reservation for New Year 's Eve to determine if they had a fixed menu or if we could order off the menu. I was told we could order off the menu. This was important because I 'm on a special diet so I looked up the menu online the morning of our reservation and arrived at the restaurant with my menu choices made. Miscommunication: We ordered off a menu alright....a prix fixed menu.....which DID NOT include any of the items I was looking forward to; and (2) my mashed potatoes were lukewarm at best butter did not melt on them. In spite of these minor complaints, all four of us in our party did enjoy our experience because our waiter was EXCELLENT. I don 't recall his name now but I did make sure at the time that the manager knew how great he was."
