"The last couple of times I've come here I wasn't impressed. Because of this I haven't been to Red Lobster in years. This time the food was surprisingly good. The service however, was not. I understand a lot of places are still under staffed so I try to be patient when it takes a bit for a server to make their rounds. It took a good 10 minutes before our drink orders were even taken. But again I try to be patient. I'll admit to then taking longer than the server seemed to think I should have deciding on what I wanted. I was very indecisive that day. We had an appetizer which was brought out by a different staff member. Then our server seemed to either forget we existed or was deliberately ignoring us. When our food was brought out she said she'd be back with a drink refill and then the next time she came to our table was when we were basically done eating and only because I flagged her down after she checked on 4 other tables TWICE. She even looked annoyed that I was asking her for something. Originally I just wanted some lemon for my fish and the promised drink refill for my husband but at this time I was just ready to go so I just asked for a box. Maybe she forgot we were her table. Maybe she was sick that day and just trying to power through (she was really sweaty the last time we saw her). Or maybe she just didn't think we'd need much from her. I don't know. But it wasn't a pleasant experience. I was irritated most of the visit because I felt that I couldn't get her attention unless I shouted and I just wasn't going to do that. So I stewed in my irritation instead of enjoying my meal."

"The seafood was amazing to start with. If you have no dietary restrictions, definitely eat here. Although the national chain has gluten-free and allergy-friendly protocols, maybe the training isn 't reaching the staff involved with the food. I worked in Hospitality for over 15 years. Red Lobster is a reliable chain. I made it perfectly clear that I could not have gluten. I asked my server if there was an allergy or gluten button on the register like Olive Garden has. My server said she was new and had never taken a gluten-free order and checked with her manager. She came back with a giant binder listing allergy ingredients. I said no problem. I 'd use Red Lobster 's website with the allergen selector to find out what was gluten free. Rice was not listed. I did not order rice because it was not listed. I did not know they even offered rice, a naturally gluten-free food if it is plain. I substituted grilled shrimp for the breaded shrimp on my platter. It came in a bed of rice. I did not order rice, right ; , but after all the explanation about NO GLUTEN and having to send back my salad, I trusted that my order would NOT CONTAIN GLUTEN. After I finished my incredibly tasty seafood meal, I noticed a piece of orzo (pasta that looks like rice on my plate. I am absolutely heartbroken thinking how sick I will be once the wheat-laden rice gets to my small intestines. After I paid, I asked our server to go check with the kitchen to be sure there wasn 't any pasta mixed in with the rice (that I didn 't order and appeared on my special-request/substitution plate . She came back and said, Nope! It 's just plain rice! Which clearly it was not. I checked the online resource when I got home. The rice contains gluten and wheat. After paying $125 for a celebratory dinner for 2, I get to look forward to missing 4 or 5 days of work because the staff didn 't pay attention to the customer 's order. I 've eaten at several other Red Lobsters in Louisville, Tennessee and Florida. Never had a problem. Please train your staff better. I explained things pretty clearly. Either the server did not communicate to the kitchen, or your kitchen staff has no idea what is in the food. I feel really let down! #glutenfree #celiac #foodsafety"

"Growing up, Red Lobster used to be my absolute favorite restaurant. Over time though, each visit seems to be worse than the last. I'll go a few months without going back and decide to give it another shot. Then I go and am reminded as to why I went so long without coming back. We arrived Thursday night just before 6pm. There were only a few tables that were occupied that I could see. We were told it would be a brief 5 minute wait, no big deal. Our waiter took surprisingly long to come greet us and take our drink order, which was a warning as to what's to come. We both got waters while we decided on an appetizer. Just the water took forever to get to the table. When it did we ordered the lobster and artichoke dip as well as a cocktail which we never received. The appetizer was good though, normally the cheese drowns everything else out but you could taste the lobster this time. I ordered a live main lobster stuffed with French fries and my wife got the lobster stiffed flounder. When we got our entrees we had been at the table for over an hour already. My lobster was quite pathetic if you act me, and the stuffing was the same consistency of refried beans. Weird. The lobster itself tasted fine aside from being slightly over cooked. Fries were soggy because the butter for the lobster spilled everywhere and covered the fries. My wife's dish was almost comical. The lobster stuffing was about 4 or 5 tiny pieces of lobster on top of the fish. Had a decent flavor though. When were finished with that we asked for a small box. Our waiter came back with the box and then just handed us a check. We were done and didn't want to order anything else, but if we actually had wanted dessert or coffee or something still we probably would have just decided to go somewhere else at that point. When I brought it to his attention that we never received my wife's drink he just said he'd take it off and walked away. Customer service was definitely lacking all around and the more I think about it I don't think I'll be planning any return trips to this chain anymore"

"Four and a half stars! First I apologize for forgetting to take photos before we started eating! The food was very good; but please allow me to comment on the basis of most personal preference. The Cole Slav and the Honey Mustard were too heavy with the vinegar. I don't care, but I can tolerate some. I couldn't eat with such a heavy concentration of vinegar. The chicken teeth were very delicious and the cheese biscuits were divine! My husband had the grilled chicken salad and it was good, though the greens were too bulky and hard. There were salad seeds in the salad. The sweet tea was something on the weak side, but the coffee was very good. The salad was much more beautiful before he was drowned in Ranch Dressing, like the baked potato before being stirred to pieces. The presentation of the food was excellent! Our server, Rose was extremely good; very professional! She was friendly, but not intrusive, helpful and attentive with a sweet attitude. The dining room is really outdated and tired. It was a bit too dark and the music too loud. Music should never drown from the conversation, and that was not so bad, but must be lowered. That said the whole place, including the toilets was very clean and tidy. We were there in the middle of the afternoon, so there weren't many customers. Our food was quickly brought to us and was hot and fresh. Overall, it was a very nice experience and we will certainly stop until the next time we are in the area! That was the Anniston site, Alabama."

"We have always visited Red Lobster when tourist season is over. Living 25 miles inland, it it always a nice ride to the beach for the sites and a visit for all you can eat shrimp. We were seated, and waited for a good while before our server came to take our drink order. Delivered our drinks and then took our food order. Was back and forth several times because he couldn't get the amount and right sides down. We got our food, was hot and good. but the wife was missing her baked potato. She ate as slow as she could, but had almost cleared her plate before it came out. I had long been done my first order of shrimp, and ordered two more selections when he came back with the potato. I had ordered two, but they came out one at a time, and seemed like forever when my second selection came out. I finished my food, and wanted to try the other selections, but decided against simply because we would have been there forever. I feel like I got ripped off because of the bad service we got. Very disappointed to say the least. I don't know if it was lack of kitchen help, or the service was just that bad. I could have easily eaten a few more servings of shrimp, but it just wasn't worth the wait. I don't know if we will go back again or not yet. It's a ride down to the beach for us, and there are restaurants all over Myrtle Beach screaming for customers in the off season!"

"UPDATE(2022): Give credit where credit it is due! Red Lobster is pretty post Covid. My wife and I continue to go there 2 3x a year, and the last experiences (including Valentine's Day) were so much better! My wife never fluctuates from the fried shrimps of the whale; I discovered Salmon New Orleans (boiled three times for perfection). All this I have changed my previous review from 1 to 4 's! What happened to Red Lobster? What a disappointing culinary experience! Where should I start? At the five o'clock dinner hour the restaurant was completely made of lobster and butterfly shrimp. The bowl of shells was delivered, but seemed to be filled less than half (I asked a more generous portion and it came back with so much more). The soup was thin and scanned certainly not rich or creamy. My wife remembers the Caesar salad with shredded cheese on previous occasions, but not tonight. And the tarter sauce, what happened to the tarter sauce? Previously it was brownish with a lot of relish; tonight 's tarter sauce was almost entirely Mayonnaise with a trace of Relish all so often (on tight inspection). The special charged side sequence of harvest vegetables was boiled and meager (all 5 brussel sprouts and and about one third of a cup of diced sweet potatoes for an extra $2.50 we returned). I thought nothing was a call to the service. Finally, after payment in cash, I received my change that included forty cents delivered in nickel, all eight of them."
