"My husband, 3 kids and I entered the Wentzville HotShots around 8:35pm. We walked in, sat down and were served by a very pleasant young lady. My family and I are traveling and came to grab dinner before heading to our hotel. As we entered the building and walked by multiple employees, we saw no signage, nor were we notified by any of the staff regarding a policy that prohibited children after a certain time. After placing our order, the kids noticed darts and asked our server to play darts. She was super nice and grabbed the darts. They played for about 10-15 minutes before our food arrived. The restaurant had maybe a dozen people spread out and was definitely not busy. We were seated nowhere near anyone…. Except maybe the servers boyfriends. It appeared some off duty servers were there to throw darts and maybe that’s who we “bothered” as we noticed them pointing at us. It must have offended this group enough to cause the male bartender or maybe manager to approach my husband with a, “Hey! No kids allowed after 8pm!” Our food was arriving at this same time. We tried our food to make sure it was what we ordered and then asked our server for to go boxes. At this point, we were no longer comfortably able to enjoy our meal in the restaurant. We received boxes. Our server apologized profusely and was clearly embarrassed. Our service was excellent and the food was delicious!!! Our server was friendly and attentive and we have zero complaints regarding our food. After boxing up- we paid our bill of $130 and left immediately. We were gone within minutes of being notified of HotShots’ “no kids after 8pm policy”. We are currently eating our room temp food in our nearby hotel room. I would recommend HotShots put a hostess/host stand in place or have other employees work closer to the front doors after 8pm and inform customers with children of their policy to prevent the same embarrassment we endured from their staff member this evening."
