"Living downtown, I 've never sought out a restaurant so far uptown and so far East (never even knew of it 's existence)! However, my dear friend just moved to nearby 86th Street and suggested we meet there. It 's a charming, small restaurant, with a nice ambience and excellent service. I had the Roasted Beet salad (not your conventional with lettuce) consisting of beets, pear, goat cheese and (supposedly) pistachio nuts. It was tasty, but I didn 't see or taste any nuts. For a main dish, I had the penne with eggplant, which was delicious and abundant, with just enough seasoning. Unfortunately, it repeated on me all night, but I don 't fault the restaurant. I either ate too fast or there was some seasoning in it that didn 't agree with me. My friend and I hadn 't seen each other in months, so we had a lot of catching up to do and we were not rushed, nor were we hovered over. It was a very good experience."
