"We were gone for 10 days. Before the holiday we did not make a blog-worthy kitchen. Since we've been home, we haven't done anything blog worthy. So next week or so, a bunch of contributions will be made about what we are eating on vacation. One of our favorite foods on holiday was in Wrightsville Beach in NC in a place called 22 North . The menu often changes so that the current offers are printed on a chalkboard menu. The beauty is that the chalkboard is on an easyl and our server brought it right next to our table. No receipt or conspiracy to see the menu from the distance! I ordered a glass of wine and SP had iced tea while we thought what to order and checked our server for garlic. Here's what we ate: First was a bread basket: blueberry muffin (delicious), cornbread (SP's favorite) and a herbal biscuit I didn't try, but SP said was delicious. I ate most of my salad before I remember taking a photo mixed green salad with strawberries, goat cheese and candied walnuts. The dressing was a creamy garlic, but our server gave the dressing to SP on the side, and brought me small bottles of balsamikum and olive oil. Really good salad. Bacon Wrapped scallops with rice and mango-red pepper. Nice cooked big scallops. I ordered the Shrimp Grits that came with a corn-red pepper Macke Choux. Our server told me that it was garlic in the polnta and maque choux, but that it was cooked for a while, it wasn't raw or eaten right before serving, so I thought I was OK (I was). I think she also said that the shrimps are cooked in the Macke Choux. It was delicious. The Gries were really good, creamy and if I really remember a touch of bacon taste. I don't really like corn, so I tried to press it on the side, but the red pepper was delicious and added a nice taste to the grains and shrimps. SP got the King Mackerel. Served with rice and some vegetables and a sauce. For Dessert we shared a slice of Chess Pie and a slice of locally produced cappuccino purple that had a bit"
