"Excellent cuisine that is memorable. Nice champagnes by the glass, except that though La Caravelle was not available by the glass, they did have it in half-bottles, which was not made aware of to me till dinner was over. Waitress tried to upsell more food (we ordered two appetizers, two mains and two glasses of bubbles) and thankfully we didn't go for the bait, as main courses are PLENTIFUL; such a nice break from small-portion ringleaders these days. Veal and salmon are filling and cooked to perfection. Sparkling water is complimentary! Another major shift away from padding the bill."

"This was our first dining experience here, and we will definitely return! The beer was delicious. My husband and I ordered a boot , which was offered on a special price, and shared it. It was just the right amount for us. We also ordered some pickled veggies and smoked fish as an appetizer, and one of the larger meat-heavy platters for our main dish and shared both of those. The main dish was beautifully split onto two plates for us, which was a lovely bonus. The service was excellent, as was the atmosphere. Great place!"

"What was once a favorite of mine has fallen to a poorly run, frustrating, terrible cafe experience. The wait for everything is too long. Dining in, we received food so long before our coffee that we had finished before we had drinks. I ordered a cappuccino to go, it came in a large cup which was filled halfway with foam. We left our credit card or, more likely, it wasn't returned to us. We took a 30 minute train ride the next day to retrieve it and found at 10am on a Saturday that the cafe hadn't opened yet even though their published hours say 7am. Really, they have gone from one of the best to one of the very worst."

"I visited this restaurant for lunch on a Friday and was very happy to find exactly what I was looking for! I chose a delicious dark hefeweizen beer from Germany and a Camembert cheese starter. The starter was fantastic, consisting of lightly battered Camembert cheese served with lemon slices and berry jelly. While the menu didn't specify that the cheese was fried, it was a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend it! For my main course, I had roasted lamb on the bone with bacon green beans and fried sliced potatoes. All of the dishes were excellent and came from the special offerings of the day. I had also considered the roasted duck special but went with the server's recommendation for the lamb. The meat was slightly overdone but still tasty. The service was a bit slower than I would have liked, especially since there was only one other table occupied at the same time. However, the server anticipated my needs effectively and I never had to wait long. The food was cooked and served at the right times, and the portion sizes were generous without being excessive."
