"Let's start with me being here before and that was a great experience. tonight, idk, if I get this place again. we had reservations that meant nothing, because they had a big party... ummm...... you should plan for it, we were sitting about 45-50 minutes after our original reservation time. then we got the wrong beverage order, I understand it's a Saturday night, but they come up to write it if they too. next, a member of the party ordered a teller that came with garlic potatoes. obviously they were out of this article, without anyone letting them know that they undercut it. no question. No, for squash... terrible experience in all. my eating was great, our time before was great. but that was a complete mistake at la costanera and everything we got was a simple half-hearted sorry. simple. better."

"One of my favorite spots in the Bay Area. The Cebiche is great! Always say yes made at home chips for the Cebiche. There are a few restaurants in this chain that I can check separately. The drinks are cold and beautiful. There is plenty of creativity with the starters, my personal favorite is: langostino crocantes... for the net, we have almost all tried so far, and top scores for everything. The shiny star is the Lomo Soltado obvious. But don't shy away from the Pescado a lo Macho! The service can be better, but at least everyone is friendly and polite. The live music on the weekend is something to be enjoyed."

"We tried this restaurant upon a friend’s recommendation who is a Peruvian. It’s his favorite Peruvian restaurant in the DMV area. We enjoyed our dining experience. The pisco sour is really good and you can get for $7 instead of $12 during happy hours though the volume is meager (the liquor portion covers 1/4 of the glass). Lomo saltado is excellent; the classic cerviche is yummy though needs a bit extra citrus flavor. The house salad has a nice portion. Three sauces calamari is disappointing overcooked with thick batters. Overall we will come back again though more carefully with the food to order."

"we tried rio for the first time and really enjoyed it. that was great. we started with the combination plate, which was probably too much for both of us, so we share a escape. our steak was not cooked as we asked, but still delicious. our server was also bartending, so we felt that our service was bad, as it had not regularly checked us and had more empty drinks than we would have wished. incredible I would recommend this place and go back."

"Desde que nos mudamos a Virginia, mi novio y yo hemos estado en la búsqueda de un restaurante peruano con comida realmente auténtica. Estoy tan contenta de haber encontrado a Pio Pio, porque ahora si puedo disfrutar de deliciosa comida peruana, tal y como lo hacía mi Mamá! Toda mi experiencia fue de 5 estrellas! El servicio fue genial. Ingrid nos atendió y con mucho cariño nos explicó el menú. Cuando pregunte sobre el frejol canario, fue tan amable y nos hizo probar un poco de ello antes de ordenar. Pedimos los clásicos Lomo Saltado y Tallarines Verdes con Bistec y quedamos encantados! Finalizamos nuestro almuerzo pidiendo gelato de Lucuma, y nuevamente estuvo exquisito. Gracias, Pio Pio! "we come here about 4-5 times a year because eating is consistently good. we started with a fungus emdanada, which was hot with a butterfly flare crust. we had the thunfish and the salmon as our head, and they were moist and tasty, especially with the roasted wobble and the litts of red wobble. the sauces were all delicious and compliment the food. it is still a popular place to go!"

"I didn't feel a Peruvian flavor in any of the dishes, we ordered seco de cabrito, asado de abuela, salsa huancaina, and choros a la chalaca, but what seemed really bad to me was the price of choros a la chalaca, almost 20 dollars for 5 mussels , when the photo on the menu showed 8. What save the dinner was the attention of the girls, very attentive and helpful. Thank you rosalva and esmeralda."

"The manager simply doesn’t understood customer service, or understand that a dining experience is about more than just the food. It took them 3 attempts to get my dinner right, the same meal I’ve ordered 10 times in prior visits (a medium steak with grilled vegetables). His attitude was poor, didn’t think it was a big deal that the rest of my party were done their meals by the time my meal showed up for the final iteration, and ultimately disagreed that the dining experience was about more than the food. It’s too bad, we’ve long been loyal customers, but we won’t be going back"

"Absolutely has great food I’ve eaten there before but I’m sad to say that the service staff is horrible. Went there at 8:45 pm Wednesday a night they were supposed to be open till 10pm and was turned away hungry. I won’t ever go back to place that doesn’t respect it’s own hours. "Peruvian ceviche is my favorite of all the ceviches and I’m so upset at what I picked up tonight. Cebiche is supposed to be mixed in leche de Tigre or mostly all lime juice. When I opened my ceviche tonight the liquid looked like orange water. Suspicious but I pushed all the fish to the bottom in hopes of “cooking” the fish in some tartness. The fish was gross because it didn’t get any acidic cooking from sitting in the juice and then I tasted the liquid which wasn’t tart at all. It wasn’t even mildly tart like orange juice. It’s inedible, as the liquid is supposed to be mostly lime juice which then marinates and cooks the fish. If you look at other photos of their ceviche and compare it to mine you can see clearly there’s a difference.This was a waste of money and trip to pick up what was supposed to be a treat. The tamal peruano was also too salty and not worth it."
