"I just visited Utopia for the second time last weekend and was fairly pleased with my experience. My first visit I enjoyed a shrimp appetizer and salad – let me rephrase that – I enjoyed the shrimp, but the salad was less than amazing. The lettuce was in poor shape and it appeared much like a caffeteria salad, with only one tomato, a few carrot shavings and a piece of onion. It also came out almost seconds after I ordered it, leading me to believe it had just been sitting there and was not freshly tossed. The shrimp, however, was well spiced and cooked. I even ordered seconds of it. I also ordered the crab cakes from their small plates options. The crab was okay, the consistency was a bit too creamy than I like, I prefer to have mine more chunky to enjoy the crab more than the addatives. My second visit was better. My guests and I ordered the linguini with scallops, the chef’s suggestion (yes, that’s what it’s called), the jambalaya and the ny strip. The scallops dish was typical but delicious with it’s simple garlic sauce and good amount of meat, the jambalaya was well done and my only warning regarding the chef’s suggestion entree is that the andouille sausage is much spicier than most andouille I’ve had before. I liked it, but some people at my table found it a bit harsh. Lastly, the ny strip was disappointing. I requested it be cooked medium, but it was definitely well done and spices were lack luster. I think they hid it in a mediocre sauce with shrimp to hide that the cut of meat wasn’t great either. We ordered two bottles of wine which were out of stock, but the waiter helped us find something else that we were happy with. His forced use of calling us “friends” in his French accent got a little old, but he gave satisfactory service. All in all, I would return, just never to order the ny strip or salad again."
