"I stayed at the attached Hampton hotel on business and was looking for a great dinner where I could dine alone. I was told by the desk to try this restaurant. I walked in and was astounded at how beautiful the restaurant and bar were, it was during the Christmas season. I was given a corner table by the hostess which I loved. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant and was impressed by the menu (I have worked or consulted for some very high restaurants/retailers in Manhattan). I had a waitress, if I'm correct her name was Amy. She came off as very professional but in some ways sweet. She was a great waitress. She brought me my order perfectly timed from my cocktail to my wine to my appetizer to the entree and to the dessert. I knew I picked the right place when I ordered a Negroni and it was perfectly made. I had a great salad but I was most impressed by the cassoulet. I've eaten in Paris, Montreal, NYC etc. and it was probably the best cassoulet I have ever had. It was delicious! Everything else was also very good including my chocolate dessert. Unfortunately my espresso was poorly made. The flavor was there but not the technique. After my meal I felt so comfortable that I decided to stay a bit longer and asked Amy if the restaurant carried Amaro. She didn't know what they were and the bartender Peter immediately came to my table and explained what he had. To my surprise he had Amaro Lucano, a spirit from my wife's small town in Italy. Very hard to find. The bar has an awesome menu of wine, spirits and beers. He gave me the drink on the house and recommended that I try one of his drinks called a Boulevardier. It was excellent. Most importantly Peter was very professional and maybe because of my being in the food business too, he told me about the restaurant and gave me a tour. I totally felt his passion about his job which was great to see! Anyway he was a great bartender. In short, I totally loved this restaurant from its ambiance to its menu to its staff. Wish it were in NYC. Can't wait to go back!"

"We've been going to Putnam Inn for a few years, but what a find! We love this place! We never had a bad experience in this food! We took some family members for lunch on Saturday 7/2/16. The buffet changed from breakfast to lunch when we arrived. The lady who sat on us said it was about 10 minutes or so to be completely finished, so that we put our waitress, our beverage orders came. We have drinks in time. The buffet was ready for lunch within the time the lady said it was. I must say all raves about the fried chicken BUT let me say I tried the pox for the first time they were the bomb! I hardly needed a knife to cut it!! I have NIE pork chops in a restaurant, let alone on a buffet that soooo delicate had so good taste! WOW! I have read some mixed reviews about this place, but I can honestly say we never had a bad experience with the food, the staff or the decor of the dining room! The tables are clean, the buffet always seems clean, even the cutlery! Genuine cloth napkins for a buffet?! What a treat! I like the decor. Yeah, it's simple, but I'm here to eat the delicious food, not to decorate ideas. The fancier the facility the more you pay. The price for the buffet is very reasonable given the type of dishes served! Maybe we're not picky people, but I always leave this place with a good feeling! I say if you're starving here, it's your own fault! I wouldn't change anything here!"

"After a long hard day, just wanted a nice relaxing dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary. My husband ordered a Grey goose martini with no vermouth, I ordered their specialty lemon drop. His martini was some cucumber vodka, not what he ordered, and he didn't care for it. Server never checked on the drinks. He ordered filet mignon, I decided to try the margarita yellowtail. His steak was tender, but lacked any flavor. I had never had yellowtail before. What was cooked was tasty, but bulk of it was very rare. I get eating a nice tuna steak on the rare side, but the center was **** rare, not pink, but ****. The rice and veggies were ok, but not enough to make a meal being I couldn't eat the fish. Again, server didn't check on us for awhile. I really wanted to try the lemon tart brulee, but instead opted for sea salt Caramel cheesecake as I really wanted the hot white Russian as a nightcap. Well...they didn't have milk for the drink. NO MILK! The cheesecake is misnamed. Don't get this if you are a caramel fan, or expecting a nice caramel taste. The cheesecake had a weird texture, wasn't nice and creamy. It came with a coffee creme and coffee beans. Totally overwhelmed the cheesecake. Didn't taste caramel at all. I like coffee flavor, and if the cheesecake would have been called coffee cheesecake, it would have been fine. Overall, a really poor dinner to celebrate our anniversary, and a crappy end to an already crappy day. Will not patronize them again!"
