"Party of 4 with no reservation walked in directly in front of us. We had a reservation for a party of 4 and we were exactly on time. Hostess immediately sat the party in front of us and then told us we had to wait 20 minutes for a table. The table we eventually were seated was directly next to the party that had no reservation and was immediately seated. The food was, at very best, average in presentation and preparation, but certainly not a $32+ per person meal. The salads were good, the appetizer was a single piece of thick toast, slice of cheese, and 2 sliced artichokes. $16. Cod was cooked fine, navy beans cold. Duck had a sauce, that seemed like mostly ketchup. 1 vegan meal option, burnt and black pancakes(? , not sure what they were. The overall ambiance is very nice; the staff was friendly, server did her best. Party of 4, 3 total alcohol drinks, 2 cold coffees, 2 desserts. $350 with tip. Portsmouth has many restaurants, the value isn't there with this one."
