"I 've been living in New Orleans now 4 years and although the food here in amazing, besides the occasional pop-ups, it 's pretty hard to get good, authentic Latin Caribbean food the way grandma used to make it. Well, it 's New Years day and I woke up completely hung over and had to work. I 'd been eyeing this spot online for a while and knew that if anything would cure this hangover, it 'd be some Dominican food. I drove over and its a small hole in the wall spot in a shopping plaza. I can tell it 's probably jumping in the evenings (especially since it stays open super late). I was met with the grandmother who greeted me warmly and asked what I wanted to eat. Tres Golpes (the three strikes) I said. She sat me down and went back into the kitchen. He grandson came over and brought me a delicious Morir Sonando (orange juice with condenced milk). I could smell the mangu, sausage, fried cheese and eggs even before it came out and my mouth watered. It was unbelievably delicious! I ordered a sancocho to go for lunch and can 't wait to eat it! I definitely recommend this spot to cure a hangover or if you 're ever in the mood for some good homecooked Dominican food!"
