"I've been to Crafthouse a few times since they stopped being Home Cafe. If I were writing about Home Cafe I would be giving it a 5 star review hands down. The issue I have the Crafthouse is that the food is just not very consistent. I've ordered things are truly out of park great, but then I've ordered other things that are not so great.<br/ <br/ My most recent visit I ordered the fish sticks with fries and shared chips and queso with my dinner friend. The queso was really good, but when it was served it already formed a crust of hard cheese on the top. It made me wonder how long it had been sitting before it got to our table. My fish sticks were really three pieces of fried cod. It was breaded well and had a nice crunch to it and the fish itself and nice and flakey. The house tarter sauce was just OK because it was missing something, almost like a key ingredient, but I couldn't put my finger on it. The fries were a complete disappointment. They were over fried and had nothing to offer. I don't mind well done fries, but these were crispy through and through and essentially burnt.<br/ <br/ I've had brunch here before and it's pretty good. But again it's a consistency issue. I will continue to go back every now and then because I really want to give this place the benefit of the doubt. They're local and I love supporting local businesses. It's was makes a city like Lubbock a great place to live. But they can improve with delivering more consistently good food."

"This is my top sandwich spot. Eaten here three times and had 5 of the ten sandwiches (I'm not a glutton, actually quite the opposite...I share half with my wife and visa versa. Sharing is caring. Location: It's a small but clean and relaxing spot. Nothing fancy, but well done and nod to the forthcoming quality and craftsmanship displayed in the sandos. Service: Always outstanding. Quick (even when 7 people ordered before me, I got served in 10 minutes , and caring. Who I can only assume is the owner has, every time I've eaten there, asked me how the food is. She cares, and it shows not just in the location and food, but in the service provided. You feel welcome and valued as a customer. Now the Food: Like I said, 5 of the 10. Tuna, Porkchetta, Turkey, Ribeye, Philly. Since individual tastes differ, I'm not going to give a mouthwatering description of each, and they were all mouthwatering. I'll describe my current favorite, the shaved Ribeye. The sandwich itself is served cold, which makes it surprisingly refreshing. The ribeye itself is very flavorful and is buoyed extraordinarily well by the horseradish spread. A smooth cheese (havarti? , crisp pickled red onions, and a leafy green add to the fresh bite of flavor the sandwich provides. It's simple but in its simplicity is the quality and freshness. It's wonderful. (For a maximum savory yet just as delicious effect, go with the porkchetta...a hot delicious mess of a sandwich . Larrys is too new to be an institution, but in a sandwich city devoid of them, their straightforward, high quality and fresh sandwich options are a great step to that direction. Very happy to have you in downtown San Diego, Larrys deli. (PS: Just found out Friday and Saturday from 11 pm to 4 am they have a late night menu frito pie and grilled cheese anyone?!? Count me in. Next review update will be at the behest of the frito pie."
