"Just moved here and have been getting a lay of the land. Stopped for gas and saw La Mixteca Tamale House. Growing up in El Paso, TX and being spolied when it comes to tamales I had to stop in and check it out. BEST DECISION EVER! Man these tamales are perfect in so many ways. No 1. The masa has flavor and the meat feeling is onpoint. No 2. They make their tamales with the perfect meat to masa ratio, so many places it's all masa or all meat and no masa. Any true hispanic that grew up making these knows how important that is! No 3. They place is very clean and service was very fast, fantastic customer service!Food On This Visit:Tamale Combo Plate w/Green Chile ChkAl a carte: Spicy Red Pork, Spicy Green PorkBonus Points: Refried Beans are made correctly and spanish rice was perfect!Even on a bad day I could never see this place under a 4 ?.
