"Just grabbed a combo for lunch. Ribs and brisket. I've always been a fan of Bonos mustard sauce and it's still very good after all these years. The ribs were big and meaty and tasted great, but the brisket was a bit dry. It was ok but not as good as expected. The baked beans were excellent too. The mac-n-cheese was terrible as I only had one small bite. Overall, the ribs were great and the brisket was ok when covered in the sauce. It was a Tuesday after lunch around 2pm. They have an outside walk up window for togo orders and we ordered after getting there. The employees were friendly and professional, and the food was ready in less than 10 minutes."

"Southern BBQ pork is a favorite meal. I have it on a solid recommendation that Bono's is the best place to eat a meal with this meat in Jacksonville. I do not live in Jacksonville so I have not tried other places. I have now eaten at two of their restaurants and the results have been very good. On the latest visit, I had a salad with BBQ on top. The salad was fresh, the lettuce was fresh and the pork had excellent flavor. The pork was a little less moist than I prefer. Another person in our party ordered the BBQ pork plate and it was more moist. No idea why the difference, probably just from a different roast. The salad had fresh, light green lettuce that was very crisp. The cucumbers were fresh. My salad came with a boiled egg for an extra charge and it sounded good for including it on a salad. There are a variety of sauces to put on the pork. I went for one that was described as sweet. It was and I liked it very much. The restaurant has a pleasant, informal ambiance. There are not many places where there is a large alligator on the wall. This one appeared to be stuffed and near the entrance. (See the photo of the alligator below. There is a large pit in the restaurant where patrons can see the meat cooking. It is a nice touch and creates an impression this is a good place to eat as the meat is cooked there and it is always fresh. The food was full of flavor, the service was good and atmosphere provided a pleasant place for a lunch. The large American flag on the wall adds to the patriotic atmosphere and seems perfect in a Southern BBQ restaurant!"

"Had to wait 25 minutes for a table at 7:30 on a Friday night. Excellent waitress, explained answer to a menu question, was very proactive about noticing about when our table needed soda refills and all-you-can-eat-catfish refills, no awkward lulls in food or service. Great experience."

"We have been going to this Bonos for years because it feels like home. Wait staff is very attentive even when only one waitress is on duty. Service is sometimes slow, but totally worth it because the food is always delicious. My favorite is the large chicken platter because it's always juicy and full of flavor. I pair it with the green beans and mashed sweet potatoes to round out a relatively healthy meal."

"As we shop today with my oldest daughter in J-ville, we stumbled over this beautiful barbecue area. We just waited a while, but as soon as we have a table, the server was very friendly and polite. The food was amazing starting with the roasted Okra. It was perfect. The ribs were moist and perfectly seasoned. The chicken was also delicate and moist. Beans and Mac and cheese were there. I'm looking forward to coming back soon. Visit a place near you. You won't be disappointed, I assure you."

"Let start with the service?. My waiter was great! Her name was Megan and she made us feel like we were at home. She was very attentive and pleasant, she even spoke pig with my son. Lol. My 3 year old is a very picky eater and both times we have come here he has been pleased with his food (He ordered the Mac and cheese and pickles). As for my food it was everything I?ve been craving since my first visit here. The ribs were juicy and flavorful and the Mac and cheese was to die for. (I had to order 2 because it was so good). This was the first time I ordered the wings and I was pleasantly surprised by the sweet sauce. It has the right amount of sweet and tangy. When it comes to the sweet tea?. Tell you grandmother she has competition because it definitely tastes like a family secret passed down from generation to generation. I sampled the banana pudding and even though it was good it lacked that homemade texture and taste. Over all I was very satisfied."

"Ordered 2 dinners and 1 app. One dinner had the wrong sides and one dinner had wrong meat combo. For a $50 meal after tax, tip and service charges, you expect the food to be correct. Receipt had order correct items but packages meals were wrong. The Food was cooked ok."

"I want to start by saying how happy and Great Service we had at this Bono. My wife and I had just made it to Florida from Atlanta for my brother,s funeral which it was also our wedding anniversary, we were sad, tired and hungry driving all the way from ATL when we decide to stop at Bono's for dinner. The staff greeted us kindly and attentive but the manager behind the counter came out to us to greet us and went out of his way to please us. He was caring, kind, respectful, attentive to his guest, great service manager and also a real patriot. I will always visit this restaurant when I visit Jacksonville. "For over a decade a loyal customer. I couldn't get three more meats tonight. I asked the customer if there was any possibility to order 3 meat from my choice, and he replied that they did not get rid of it. I was like okay? ll downsize on 2 meats I guess if that's my only option that allows me to get my meat. For this reason alone, I will never return to Chester. I bought a cup for the sweet tea they always have and disappointed again. I don't know why they would take away any possibility for me to choose 3 meats. I tried and literally didn't say anything! I guess it's time I break my loyalty from over a decade and try out the new smokehouse in Mystic. This visit was also the first time that the grain bread was? not even edible! Bye!"

"I had wanted to try them out for quite a while so today we drove by the Flint, Michigan location we stopped to check it out. 3 of us ordered the baby back rib, the st. Louis style ribs, beef brisket, bbq chicken, french fries and side salads. Our waitress was very nice and helpful, very attentive. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. We ordered and the salads came out fast. Side salad with italian and a caesers. Both were good. Then the rest of the food came. The bbq chicken was very nice, cooked well and not burned like a lot of bbq chicken tends to be. The brisket was dissapointing. Small portion, fatty and not much seasoning. The corn muffins are awesome. The baby back ribs were very fatty and could have used a little more cooking. The st louis style ribs were excellent. The portions for the prices charged seemed quite small and they were super stingy on the french fries. They bring your food out on a metal tray and for a $20-30 meal, the tray was half empty. Wtf? Throw some french fries on it! Not sure i will be back but if i am will NOT order the brisket!"

"We're new to Iowa so we've been eating our way around the Des Moines area and trying out restaurants that we haven't been to before. My daughter and I walked into Famous Dave's at around 6:30pm today. We didn't receive a greeting even though there were employees standing there. I approached an employee and said 2 for dinner. The employee spent a good amount of time fumbling for silverware and menus. We were seated and a waitress came and took our drink order and delivered it to us and said she'd give us a few minutes and she'd be back to take our order. I watched the waitress visit with a person that appeared to be the manager, then she visited with other employees. Then i saw her go into the bathroom, I think. She was gone for awhile and during this time my daughter and I talked about leaving because there are so many places to eat around town that we didn't need to wait this long. As we agreed to leave $3 on the table for my ice tea, the waitress came out from wherever she was and looked our way. I told my daughter she was headed our way and started to put the $3 back in my purse thinking we'd get to order our food because we really wanted to try the bbq. Sadly the waitress went to the table behind us and asked the customers if they needed a to go box to which the customers said no. So she left without even saying a word to us. That was our queue to leave. We ended up going to a competitor, Jethro's BBQ and had a great experience. Now I know why Dave's parking lot was pretty empty compared to Jethro's parking lot Jethro's has great food and great service. I don't know if Famous Dave's has good food, what I do know is they have lousy service. I don't think I'll go back to that location but if I'm in another town or state and see a Famous Dave's, maybe I'll stop in."

"Our server, Delcee, was fantastic. We came to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and the food was delicious. The drinks were also excellent. I requested to have a dessert to celebrate his birthday without drawing attention to our table, and Delcee honored that perfectly. She brought out a complimentary sundae without making a big announcement to the entire restaurant. Thank you for a wonderful experience!"
