"Raquel and the manager were amazing. I had an issue with clusters vs. bucket and was accommodated and left full and happy. Only think is I would seat people away from the windows as I don’t think the heat was blowing, probably a cost thing which totally understand. But we were shivering from the draft by the windows and put our coats on. Maybe it’s just the window area? Thank you!"

"Worst food I?ve seen in a loooong time. Wow. Everything we ordered was wrong because we got someone else?s order. The other guys fries were soggy and cold, his sliders were very dry and flavorless and his boneless wings were blackened by overcooking in old, dirty oil. Most of this disgusting oil ended up in the bottom of the container (see pics lol). Never. Again."

"Not happy. We had a reservation for 7:45p and we didn't sit until 8:30. My disabled aunt had to stand while we waited. Our food lasted long and also our drinks. I made this reservation for my sons' birthday and they didn't even sing to him as if they had the other guests who had their birthday. Did they forget? I mentioned it. I remembered the waitress after we paid our bill, and she grabbed him an ice cream on Sunday. Nevertheless, we've tipped well."

"Went here on Saturday. Made a special trip to Pittsburgh so we could have some good seafood. Our waitress was so very friendly!! We started with the crab dip and it was amazing. Writing this review 3 days later, it’s making my mouth water! My husband got queen crab boil with an extra queen cluster, I got snow crab boil our son got the shrimp sampler. The shrimp sampler was good. My crab was amazing. The potatoes corn I got in mine were okay… but my husbands was better because his boil had sausage in it as well it was such good sausage! Husband said the queen crab wasn’t worth the price difference in the snow crab. We spent around $180 for three dinners, an appetizer 3 drinks. The stand out for me- the sausage the crab dip by far."

"I was craving seafood and Joe's Crab Shack satisfied my craving. I don't come here often, but the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Atlantic steam pot, which came with snow crab legs, shrimp, lobster claws, sausage, corn, and red potatoes. My friend had the fish and chips. The drink I ordered was a refreshing mix of unsweetened tea, lemonade, and cranberry juice, garnished with an orange. Our server, Brian, was amazing and took great care of us. We always appreciate the friendly service here. The music added a nice touch to our dining experience. Overall, a happy dinner!"

"I wasn't here in about three years. Last time I was here, the food was like that and the service was the same. So I decided to stop and give them another shot. I did. OMG the food was excellent from the tack snacks I highly recommend the big balls of fire these were excellent and tasted great with a little kick. The shrimp and seafood ensemble again excellent, cooked for perfection and not least the east coast plate is another dish I highly recommend. I would also like to thank the hostess Sam, her service was perfect and it was a pleasure to have her as a hostess. I was full and wanted more. I can't wait to come back!"

"Not a huge fan of Crab but visited Joes Crab Shack with my family. I decided to go with the Sirloin. I wouldn't recommend it. I didn't even eat half of it because of how tough and chewy it was. It didn't have much flavor besides the garlic butter. The potatoes and broccoli were average but I did finish them all. I was surprised that when they took my plate away they didn't ask if I liked it or not with almost my whole steak on the plate. I left feeling like it was my fault for choosing steak at a place that specializes in crab but at the same time if you are going charge $25 for a steak make sure its good. The ambiance was okay. There were kids running around and it made me feel like I was at FatCats. The staff was extremely friendly. Top Sirloin 5.4/10 Mashed Potatoes 6.4/10 Broccoli 6.0/10"

"Went for spring break.. we got there around 1130ish am. The doors were locked but a patron was coming out and he let me and my kids come in. The host was very rude and upset that we got in and kept making faces and was clearly mad that we made it inside. But he sat us down. Our waiter was amazing and the food was very, very good! We enjoyed calamari and the queen crab legs. Overall, the food was great, our waiter was awesome. The host definitely needs more training in customer service; kept repeating to us, DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR OR LET ANYONE IN!!!And only about 6 tables were filled in the whole restaurant!! The 3 stars are for that rude host in the front.."

"Honestly, my Famy had an explosion here. We are on vacation and it was our first time eating any kind of seafood cooking, everyone was super friendly, our waitress was patient with us as we were first timers and needed additional time to look at the menu. "Music was blasting some herky-jerky music at very high volume. Impossible to hear waitstaff. After multiple complaints from our party of five and other tables, music did get muted somewhat. We were presssured to order drinks, appetizers and entrees when we were seated, then the waitress argued with us and said it was OUR FAULT when one of our party was overcharged. Shellfish (shrimp) tough and rubbery .I was offered Strawberry Shortcake for desert but what was served was some awful marbled sheetcake with red syrup. Not shortcake where I come from! "Really fresh seafood. Loved this place. The menu menu has a lot of options. Really quick. You can order the food to the spiciness you prefer. They have an amazing views of the sea if you can make it to the window tables. There place has an amazing ambiance. Casual setting. You order your food directly on their website and it goes straight to the kitchen. They don’t have a lot of servers as you order and pay directly on their website. I would like to see the restaurant have a more traditional service process. Overall it is a nice seafood experience."

"Came here for a spur of the moment night out. Our server Danny (Daniel) was absolutely amazing. He was up beat and happy. He constantly checked on us and made sure we had what we needed. Made our night to be served with such awesome customer service. The employees danced and he was the first one on the floor and was soooo in to the dance. It was extremely entertaining!! We had tons of questions about the menus and drinks. He patiently and quickly answered all our questions with a great personality and attitude. The food was amazing, as always, but this trip stood out due to Danny and his outstanding customer service!"

"This was our first visit with o Joe’s Crab Shack and it was anticlimactic. The appetizer, Fire Balls, were yummy with ranch on them but had little flavor without. If you like a little kick but not good on hot then these are perfect. The Jalapeño was enough to tingle your tongue but not be painful and the kick did not last long, no painful after-burn. The French fries that came with the fire balls were hot and crispy with soft centers. That was the only highlight to the food. We ordered the Pirate Platter with broccoli and East coast platter. The grilled shrimp in the Pirate Platter was so over cooked it reminded me of stale bubblegum. The seasoning was decent. The grilled tilapia was very greasy and the seasoning was tasteless. The fried fish batter was the consistency of cardboard, very hard to cut and tasted about the same. I took two bites and had to stop. The fried popcorn shrimp was standard, kind of hard to mess that up. I will say the the shrimp inside was tender which was a pleasant surprise after the grilled shrimp texture. My husband ordered the East Coast platter and described it as lackluster. The crab cake was good with a little flavor and nice moist texture. A plus was that there was no shell in the crab cake which is hard to do. Otherwise, the platter was edible but not enjoyable. The salads were fresh and crisp. The Ranch dressing and balsamic vinaigrette were delicious. Coleslaw came with both platters and was a little different with a variety of flavors and nicely cool and crisp. It wasn’t exactly sweet but did lean that direction. I didn’t try the broccoli I ordered so can’t comment on that. The service was good. We were seated immediately upon arrival and it was a little busy at 6:00pm. The server came over promptly and took our order. The appetizer came out quickly and was followed by the entire meal meal about 10 minutes later. One frustrating points was that the salads came out with the meal so you had to choose between your salad getting warm or your food getting cold. I guess you could eat them at the same time but my brain doesn’t work that way. I ate the fish first while it was hot and it was still awful. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. The food was pricey at $25+ a plate and was lower quality than Long John Silver. I am told the seafood boils are amazing but at $90 for two people I am glad I didn’t try it because if they had tasted anything like these platters I would have been steamed myself. On a side note… The atmosphere was clean with interesting decor to look at. The stereo was loud and an obnoxious rock type station that gave me a headache after an hour. This is also an interactive restaurant. Every time a child ordered a Shark drink the server shouted “Everyone out of the water!” And the patrons responded by shouting quite exuberantly “SHARK!”. It was fun the first two times but got very annoying as my headache built throughout the meal. If you have children it looked to be a hit with them."
