"Cholanad is the best kept secret in Chapel Hill. The food is outstanding, service is wonderful, the ambiance is diverse. I have been here with a large group of friends and sat outside, on a first date in a quiet corner, at the bar to watch a game, and with my family of multiple generations. "One of the worst experiences we had with the food quality and the service level . We ordered boneless vijaywada chicken biryani family pack and they gave us two packs . When asked at the desk they mentioned they are giving it in two packs . When we came home we realized they gave us some chicken bone in biryani which had the worst taste ever . When we called them for a refund they asked us to come collect another boneless biryani instead and that’s the only option they have . Very bad behavior , service and quality of food. Would never want to try their restaurant again ."

"Since moving from the northeast, we have tried almost every Indian restaurant in Jacksonville and MAA Kitchen is the best. Everything tastes freshly made, and there are always pleasant surprises. You know its freshly made because the food trickles out piping hot the first 15 minutes after the lucnh buffet opens up. Many times you see the chef carrying out one of the main dishes he just finished. We go for the Sunday lunch buffet as brunch, and there are always a few different dishes that keep it exciting, while the more common dishes are always very well made and reliably yummy. I appreciate that they put signs out for all dishes so you can remember the ones you've liked best."

"The food is great, it takes some time depending on what you order, so ready for a bit to wait. The Gobi 65 is really beautiful and crispy and, in my opinion, superior to the chicken 65. You have the best Biryani I had in California. The Dosa is also good, but is not special. They have some more unique curries on their menu that are great and I recommend."

"Great food! Very fresh. We tried their chicken chilly, dum biriyani, goat roganjosh, butter naan, matar paneer, plain dosa and butter milk. Absolutely loved their chicken dum biriyani! My 5 yr old had biriyani for the first time ever and yelled “yummy”. That’s reason enough for me to go back there! The service was extremely good. Our server was very attentive, and went over and beyond to help even before the need to call (unlike a lot of other places where we wait to call someone if we need something). A+ to the server."

"I was blown away that they have a lunch buffet with clearly marked vegan and vegetarian options! Even the salad bar had vegan and vegetarian signs including their salad dressings and sauces! I LOVE Indian food! Generally buffets aren’t as good as ordering and this buffet wasn’t an exception but I had to try it because of the clearly marked signs. The buffet was only $12 which is pretty cheap for Indian food. I’ve ordered off their menu before and if you know what you want I would recommend this over their lunch buffet. Their website has their menu so give that a look."
