"I did some research before Christmas last year and came across several reviews for Pete's Fine Meats. I called in advance to make sure they had a good loin tip roast or a quality piece of meat for beef cutlets. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I was disappointed with both the service and the selection of meat. Despite not being very busy, it took 30 to 40 minutes for someone to assist me. I eventually spoke with the head butcher, who seemed confused when I asked for 7 to 8 lbs. of lean beef cutlets for making chicken fried steak. He didn't have the cuts I wanted and instead offered to cut them from a beef tenderloin, promising no gristle or fat in the meat. I agreed to this, although I was disappointed in the higher price I was charged compared to the listed price for beef cutlets. Strike one. When I got home and started cooking the cutlets, I discovered they did, in fact, contain gristle and fat. Strike two. I was very disappointed to pay a premium price for a specialty cut of meat and still end up with undesirable results. Needless to say, I won't be returning to Pete's Fine Meats."
