"Very disappointed for the second time in a row. One dish came out COOL not even warm. The person that brought it to the table was not the one who took the order but this is what she said, NOT SURE WHAT THIS IS OR WHO IT GOES TO . It was manicotti. We had to send it back. We complained to that person, who again was not the one who took our order, and her response was we are short staffed and she usually just rings up the sales . We were advised that Timothy has gone to another restaurant and they are sort handed! As we are out dinner in shifts since one dish had to go back we saw two other tables having complaints and we are so sorry being told to many. This WAS a favorite of yours for a long while and we DID give it a second chance but two times in a row of problems means we will move on to Cafe Verde and they are expanding and that should be a concern to you. People in Wilmington are very well connected and word is getting out that Cantina di Napoli is not what it used to be. Upon leaving we heard our server CURSING out the chef!!! Guess his tips have been affected by lack of continuity in the kitchen."

"I was at San Gennaro’s yesterday for a private event and I cannot begin to tell you how amazing the experience was. Gennaro, the owner, was warm, welcoming and his staff did a FANTASTIC JOB with all the amazing food and service. Everyone was friendly, professional and very accommodating. I ate absolutely everything they served! The antipasto appetizers were so yummy, (I had never had fried rice balls before) the salad was perfectly prepared and the chicken parm was absolutely delicious! Food restrictions were taken into consideration during meal prep for all guests. I had such a wonderful experience here and I look forward to visiting San Gennaro’s again with my husband this time for dinner! I recommend this gem on Arthur Ave without reservation! Thank you so much for making my friend’s wedding and reception such a beautiful and memorable one!!!"

"Amazing food from crispy Brussels sprouts to perfectly seasoned salad to melt in your mouth fresh pasta with mushrooms and sun-dried tomatoes and the outstanding fish wrapped in zucchini on a bed of spinach. We were too full for what looked like incredible desserts. Next time!"

"I came here last night and loved the ambiance and the service! We ordered two appetizers and three past dishes. All were just amazing, some of the best pasta I've had. The dessert was ok but definitely not the highlight. I ordered a cheesecake and it was frozen in the middle.... The server was very nice and understanding and he took it away when I told him. But it was definitely a huge lapse in judgement by the kitchen for even sending that out. It would have been better to just tell me they ran out which would have been fine. Overall though, the meal was so good that the frozen cheesecake didn't bother me much and it didn't ruin my meal. Another bonus is, during the week this place is BYOB! My husband only likes French wines so that's a huge perk. I'll definitely be back!"

"Food was amazing, didn’t realize “extra bread” costs $4 no big deal but not on the menu. Staff got a little short when three of us asked for a separate check. Not like we were a party of 10. Then they couldn’t make change for a tip, got flustered had to go next door for change Otherwise had a great time!"

"This place was so darn cute. It was our first time there and we were warmly greeted. We ordered a bottle of wine, the arancini (delicious), gnocchi and tiramisu. The gnocchi was so soft it was like mush and the tomato sauce (the same on the arancini, was super sweet). The tiramisu was average at best, it didn’t have any structure and we were disappointed. There are a hundred wonderful Italian restaurants in the city. This one missed the mark, great potential but the food was blah."

"The daily specials are excellent! the menu has not changed in 2 years so if you visit often, the best option is the daily specials. The service is not top notch, it always seems as if the restaurant is short staffed. The outdoor seating is nice but extremely uncomfortable, and inside is very small space, so if you are not too kin on loud sounds and too many people in very close proximity to each other, I recommend eating outside, with the caveat that the seating arrangement is not at all comfortable. Other than that, I recommend the restaurant for its quality of food."
