"I so want to give this restaurant a five star review. Their food is delicious. The service is great. The vibe at the restaurant is terrific and they do delivery food with nice extra touches as well. So why can’t I give this place the five star rating it deserves? It’s the salsa. For me, the deal breaker at any Mexican restaurant I frequent, and for me good Mexican food is an obsession since I was a sentient being. I love spicy. In no way could I be characterized as a wimp when it comes to heat in any of the foodie genres I love, whether it be Mexican, Thai, Vietnamese or Indian. However, when I want to go out with friends to have a great time and a fantastic meal, the last thing I want is to have my clothes drenched in sweat and my tastebuds fried beyond function before I even get to the appetizers and my first margarita. Who knows what pepper they put in this stuff—Serrano, Habanero, ghost peppers, who cares? The flavor of the sauce is lovely, the color is perfect, the consistency is sumptuous—for about five seconds. After that I couldn’t tell you what anything tastes like because my mouth is on fire, I’m going through boxes of Kleenex, my shirt is soaked and I’m seriously miserable. Who knows why talented people put their hopes and dreams into an fine eatery like this one, devote so much loving care and effort to their recipes and dishes and offer such a warm welcome, only to punish their customers before they ever get to appreciate the results? Dozens of other reviewers have offered similar complaints, but their owner/manager seems to be either MIA on the issue or perhaps just sadistically enjoying the suffering for who knows what reason. It’s really a shame, because I’m forever in search of a kitchen away from home to replace my former favorites Cafe Cancun and Mario and Alberto’s that have provided me with so much comfort and joy ever since I was in high school in Dallas in the early eighties. This place comes so close—in just about every other way it’s sublime—but until their chef actually tastes the poison being served to customers and recognizes that this is an American restaurant and not Guantanamo Bay, I’m going to have to look elsewhere. Sucks."

"This is my 1st time ever posting a review online, but I felt compelled to address the lack of customer service at Los Toreros. We had the misfortune of visiting this restaurant (like most of the others posting here have had). We stopped by to have lunch on Sat. 10/25/20014 around 1pm, the place was pretty desolate 2-3 other couples seated. We waited at the hostess stand for at least 5 minutes before one of the 3 or 4 waiters on staff acknowledged and seated us. It 's important to note that there was a lady standing at the bar busily typing away on her phone the entire time we were waiting to be seated, this is important because as it turns out she was the manager on duty. After being seated, we were ignored for at least another 10minutes when the bus boy brought us chips (but no silverware) and never said a word. As the bus boy was leaving he was playing with his hair, this is of note because he returned to his other duties of rolling filling the patrons drinks, etc. without washing his hands (I know this because he never left the floor or my site before assuming his other duties). When the waiter finally comes to our table to take our drink order (the entire time holding another patrons drink in his hands), he eventually takes the drink to the other table before returning to our table with our drinks. Another 10 minutes pass before the waiter returns looking exacerbated and irritated to ask if we were ready to order. I explained we had been ready for at least 15minutes to order, he became dismissive and rude. Really, it 's our fault that we had to wait to be seated or to place an order, the restaurant was almost empty for god sakes. There were more staff than there were customers seated!! Needless to day stay away with the bad customer service no telling what may happen a bad meal and a bad experience, or worse with the lack of employee hygiene no telling what you will catch as well. Oh yeah, did I mention all the flies at my table that obviously had not been cleaned prior to being seated. They should change the name to Lost Toreros !!!!!!!!!!!"
