"We went to dinner at the end of March, before the racing season, and the restaurant was quite empty — just us and a few other parties. We did not expect too much, but were pleasantly surprised by very good food and service. The only real drawback was the decor, the screaming chain hotel and it felt generic, inadequate and drab. After we sat down and entered the mood-numbing, conference-hotel setting, we started to gloomy what came next. But to our surprise, our server was prompt, experienced and missed no beat. The actual revelation, however, was the food. Maybe our low expectations gilded the lilly a bit, but the food clearly exceeded everything we had expected. It definitely saved a dinner that what was first looking for was a disappointment. Overall, the experience was a good one and we expect to go back when the racing season returns, so we can test how things are in full bloom."
