"I've been to Baldamar many times, and normally it's terrific. This visit was definitely different. The service was great, but the food and drink quality was a large step down. from pervious visits. Between the group, we tried their Manhattan, an old fashioned, and two vodka martinis. The first two were good, but the martinis were mediocre. I had a Caesar salad to start, and the dressing lacked much flavor at all. The sea bass (for the main dinner course) was terrific, but the veggies that accompanied the fish were not impressive at all. One person at our table ordered a side of asparagus, and it was very woody and did not seem to be seasoned at all. Dessert was a coconut chocolate ice cream concoction, and it was impressive. Overall, for a 4 person dinner that topped $500, I was expecting better."
