"I really, really want to love this restaurant, and this is not my first visit here for brunch. First off, the staff is very friendly. Really earnest crew and I do appreciate that. Secondly, the decor is interesting, being set in a small quirky historic building with interesting art. Here's why I have trouble with The Row House: 1 the ambiance. The place has an echoey quality (throw some fabric on the walls or floors, please! , the music is always a touch too loud, and inside is always a touch too cold. 2 the food. Some dishes have potential, like the brie-stuffed French toast, but others look and taste as if they were made with frozen ingredients (an egg dish with veggies that looked like they were poured from a bag . This place is SO close to getting things right, but just off enough that I am not going to bring friends there any more until things tighten up. It's embarrassing when friends say out loud the reservations I'd been keeping to myself! Do go, get your coffee here. It will be great and delivered with a smile."
