"Don Carmelo’s has been on our list of places to try for quite some time and we weren’t disappointed. All of the other reviews about how great the service is are totally true. There was a bit of a wait when we arrived around 7pm. We were told there would be a 15-25 minute wait which was fine as we were cool with having a drink at the bar. While seated in the bar area, someone came over to see if we wanted some chips. Nice touch. The wait ended up being closer to 45 minutes, but several people came over to tell us they were just waiting for the table to pay their check and that they hadn’t forgotten us. The food was excellent. The chips came with three kinds of salsa. One was better than the next. My husband had the mussels appetizer from the specials menu and the sauce had great flavor. I had the short rib tacos also off the specials menu and they were fantastic. My husband also enjoyed his entrée. The dessert selection was great. We tried the dessert sampler which is a great option. Several people continuously checked on us to make sure everything was okay and the service was very prompt. We didn’t wait for anything. The only thing I didn’t love was the rice. I felt it could have used more flavor. We will be back for sure."
