"Update 2022They really improved things. The Caribbean chicken is still good but they're using smaller pieces then they used to. The rice with pigeon peas is excellent. Service is a lot better. The beef stew is soft now but it doesn't have a lot of vinegar like carribean food usually does.update 9/2019My last 3 delivery experiences were terrible. I received plaintain raw still part pink inside, i eat green Banana (guinero) often this times it seems like it was slow cool boiled not water. I requested garlic for the tostones when I recieved my delivery I was told I had to pay $1 for that. Why not just charge it as a side. Plus I only needed 1 which would have been .50 cents. the meat was excellent. I think the issue is on Sundays Mexican workers may mot be familiar with caribbean cuisine. Its an issue in a lot of Dominican places in the Bronx, Sunday food is not as good. There is a smart mouth Dominican guy every time I speak with him I know there is going to be a problem. I called to check of my order was received he could have just told me to come down with an extra dollar. I locked myself out accidentally to get the food they never ring a bell no matter how much the tip or how many parking spaces. the tostones were replaced with more raw and oily soggy plantain.Nicer atmosphere than many for dinner to sit in. But like most food is a a little inconsistent. Today my half roasted chicken is usually dry. Today it was not. My experience is to avoid the beef guisado... dry. I often get the caribbean chicken. Its usually the safest consistency. Better than Steven's (sorry).UPDATE: 11/13/18 I appreciate the owner response. I look forward to going there more and trying more food. I had stopped going there for like a year. So maybe everything not just the chicken has improved. I look forward to changing this review in the near future...now that I have had 2 great dishes recently."

"The restaurant is clean and we chose to sit indoors we were well spaced apart from other patrons. Outside seating is available. The food came out in a timely manner. The owner/host was interactive with all of the patrons . He was respectable and outgoing. The food arrived timely it was all fresh , hot , delicious and beautifully displayed. We prayed over our meal and were very satisfied. My husband had pernil con arroz y gandules and was very pleased. He is very particular about his food when dining out so this was great. My daughter had fries and chicken bites she said that it was so good she can also be very particular about her food choices so that was great. I enjoyed Tri-fongo con camarones it was so delish and fresh. My MIL had Bistec con arroz y gandules and she’s PR born and raised been cooking since she was 11 and it was up to her standards she enjoyed her meal and had zero complaints. They also had beef empanadas and said they were very good. I’m more easy going but I roll with a tough crowd so to find a Latino restaurant close to home that everyone thoroughly enjoyed is a huge win ! We will be back. They have a passion fruit drink that got rated a 10 by bury my husband and daughter. It’s a nice place to dine. We look forward to returning with family and friends."

"Bad experidnce today after my wife found a rubber band inside one of the alcapurrias she ate and after that didnt finish eat because of that then we ask the manager for the money we spent after that is the least they can do for the bad moment for us and embarrasing for,them ,the owner refused to pay ,just want to pay for the alcapurria we found the rubber band wont visit anymore another place to avoid and a frequent customer they lost."

"I've been coming here for over 15 years and the food has consistently stayed the same. The servers are like family, they remember your name and order. I've never once had a bad meal. The flan is made in-house, the steak jibarito is fresh and not drenched in garlic, and the cafe con leche has just the right amount of sugar. "The hand off was great, then... the food was not the best and half of our order was missing. But!, when we called the lounge, the waitress was very helpful and decided to send us a new meal without charge. She was very respectful and called back multiple times to make sure we were satisfied. "First time and we wont be going back. Waitress was rushing us since we got in, even asking what we wanted without opening the menu.Appetizers were ok but main dishes were awful.Carne frita didnt feel fresh our just out of the fryer. It feel like it was standing after it was cooked for a while. Mofongo was not made with green platains as it already had a very sweet taste like when platains are riped. Arroz con gandules was very dry and bland in flavor. It seems that the waitress is new cause she didnt know how to handled the customers, she was rude. Dissapointing experience. Feel like we were veing rushed even when the restaurants was empty when we got there and by the time we left there were only 2 more tables."
