"I ordered the tamale plate, but I didn't enjoy it from the very first bite. Hoping it might improve, I took another bite, but I still found it unpalatable. My partner ordered the fajitas, so I approached the manager to ask if I could return the tamale dinner since I had only taken two bites. I assumed this wouldn’t be a problem. However, the manager informed me that while she could take it back, she couldn't remove it from the bill because I had ordered it.
I expressed my disbelief, stating that if she were dining out and tried something she didn’t like after a few bites, she would send it back too, as I had never encountered such a policy before. The waitstaff were unfriendly and didn’t even greet us with a smile. What happened to the idea that the customer is always right?
Ultimately, the manager did return and removed the charge for the tamale from our bill, but the experience had left a sour taste in my mouth. We will not be returning to this restaurant, and it’s clear why the place was so empty."
