"Bland, greasy, and just makes you ask the question, What did I do to deserve this? First, we tried to address the issues of taste with the manager Sandy. Well, we found her to be very condescending and rude, when we merely tried to discuss the ingredients of the dishes we had one vegan in our party and simply wanted to know if there would be food options for them but instead were assaulted with nasty vitriol! Not everyone eats meat and you are nasty for making us feel horribly!"

"We have been eating at Kyoto's for quite some time. Even during Covid, we consistently picked up food from here. The quality of the food has most definitely declined over the years but we never got sick and still enjoyed it so kept ordering because they were local to us. Last week, we had a spectrum magazine coupon that we wanted to use. It was the online printed version (which Spectrum told us we could use) but Kyoto's wouldn't accept it. Being from the same town, we offered to go home and get the printed version from the actual Spectrum magazine but no, that still wasn't going to be accepted. Our order was almost $70, coupon was for $10 off. We thought for sure when we spoke to Nina, the owner, she would resolve for us the next day. But she didn't. Not only that but she had, the woman (who works the front of the restaurant) who gave us the hard time, in her ear in the background. SO UNPROFESSIONAL. So she 100% lost us as customers. I guess she must be doing SO WELL, that she doesn't need us. I mean, the other reviews here state that pretty clearly...not. So bye bye Kyoto and we can't wait to see you close your doors when the new Japanese restaurant moves into town in just a few months! If there is one thing I will never tolerate, it's poor customer service! Ever. Anyone who is looking for the coupons, you can find multiple copies of the Spectrum magazine at both AAA and Harrows, both near the Walmart plaza. I hope you all use them if you're going there anyway! She doesn't deserve people's business and to think of how many people we recommended to go there! How many times I stuck up for her! Both online and in person! However, those same people will now NOT be frequenting her restaurant. Sucks when you screw with long time customers over $10, who also happen to live in town. Byeeeee bye Kyotos! Oh and PS...nobody likes brown, crusty old wasabi...in case you didn't know!"

"Given the close to perfect rating, expectations were rather high. The restaurant looked great and seating service was quick and passable on a Tuesday night. Unfortunately my complete meal was not as complementary. My plates certainly looked great but the rice in both my entrees was not properly prepared and seasoned. The seaweed used for my roll was not crisp meaning it was either not toasted or stored properly before service to account for the humidity. The bed of rice in my Chirashi was lightly seasoned with furikake seaweed but that hardly made a difference. It was still under seasoned. The sliced fish in my chirashi was fresh, but there wasn 't any difference in taste from piece to piece. No amount of soy sauce or wasabi was going to enhance my chirashi. My experience certainly did not lay claim to a best ever designation and I 've had my share of great sushi."

"Nakama is one of my favorite places and I usually go once a month. However, the most recent time I went the food tasted different. I heard there is new management who has changed some of their recipes. The onion soup used to be my favorite but now is spicy with little taste. The flavor of the steak sauce had also been dampened. The original recipes were definitely better. The other people we were seated with had the same thoughts. Overall, our sushi and main courses were still very good. Just upset with the minor changes that have affected my overall experience."

"This used to be one of my favorite spots several years ago- coming back to it recently was a treat. I was expecting things to be tired, and, while things did look different because of the pandemic, the food was tasty as usual. Avocado ball is a must, and all of the rolls are super tasty. "I took my wife out for dinner at Montira Restarant located in Glenview at the Glen. The customer service was very good. Unfortunately, as soon as we ordered our food, we realize that this meal was not going to be very good. The tea was not very good and lacked any flavor. The Teriyaki beef was extremely overcooked. My wife had shrimp dish. Both dishes lacked any flavor. Both entrees tasted like they were missing ingredients. I would highly suggest that the owner start tasting the food before it is given to customers."

Call to complain, they offered 10% off the next order. Will there be a next order? It isn't clear. The sushi sashimi combo is good. The shumai is very good.
