"We arrived at the quiet and charming restaurant and ordered the vegetarian sampler appetizer, garlic naan, malai kofta, and palak paneer. The appetizer, which included a samosa, paprika, and fried cheese curds, was delicious and perfect for sharing. I usually stick to the green chutney for dipping, but the tamarind chutney caught my attention this time with its spicy and tangy flavor.
The naan and main dishes arrived shortly after, along with a colorful bowl of basmati rice. The malai kofta had a more distinct flavor than I was used to, with delicious potato dumplings in the sauce. The palak paneer had a noticeable spinach taste, a sign of authentic Indian food compared to other restaurants. The garlic naan was also perfectly cooked and you could smell the butter immediately.
After enjoying our meal (and taking plenty of leftovers home), we let our waiter know that we lived nearby and were excited to come back regularly. He surprised us by bringing a bowl of rasmalai for dessert. I had never tried rasmalai before, but it was absolutely incredible with its soft cheese and sweet condensed milk.
We were impressed with the reasonable bill (averaging around $12) and left the restaurant feeling delighted. I highly recommend Mood Indian for its perfectly seasoned, fresh, and authentic dishes. The menu offers a wide variety of options for vegetarians and the prices are a steal for the quality of the food. The fact that they are open until 1am every night is dangerous for us living nearby, but we will definitely be returning with friends in the future."
