"We come here frequently but today was a hot mess. The sushi rice, on all of our rolls was very wet. Every time we picked up a section of a roll it instantly disintegrated…..what we ended up with was a soupy mess…chopsticks were useless. We called this to the attention of our server and her response was “sorry, sorry”. No offer to make it right. First time being disappointed here…."

"First time trying this place. It looks very welcoming from the outside, so we decided to give it a try. To start off, the service is horrible. It was one of the worst services I have ever had. We ordered a total of 4 rolls and 1 hand roll. The only rolls we really enjoyed were the hand roll and 1 regular roll. The rest of them were really bad. I do not recommend this restaurant and definitely will never return. I was very surprised at how many people came into this restaurant with such bad food."

"Located on College Park Drive off Highway 242, just off Interstate 45 north of Houston, Texas, this restaurant may be a bit difficult to spot from the main road, but Google Maps will guide you right to it. Hidden behind some trees, the parking lot is clean and convenient with handicap accessibility. The restaurant is situated in a nice, clean strip mall in a safe area. Inside, the floor and tables are spotless and well-maintained. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Although they no longer offer lunch specials on Saturdays, the menu is extensive and easy to navigate. The food arrived quickly, hot, and delicious. My total bill came to about $20 with a tip. This was my first visit, but I definitely plan on returning. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience. If you appreciate my reviews, please give me a thumbs up. Thank you."

"Sapporo East is a sweet and cozy Sushi/hibachi restaurant. Staff are all super friendly and welcoming and make you feel at home. The place is clean and the good smells great at entering. Make sure to check your special roles on the boards behind the sushi balls! I went for one of the specials called Black Pearl and a regular spicy tuna reel. The Black Pearl was delicious with a fried scallop inside, black pepper tuna on the outside and with two delicious sauces including a homemade scalion sauce. The iced tea is also delicious!! A great place to meet with friends for some delicious sushi!"

"Went here for a birthday dinner. This appears to be run by a very hard working family. It’s in a quiet section of La Jolla Village with loads of convenient free street parking. It’s easy to find. Place is spotless, menus is huge with a nice assortment of sushi sashimi and cooked food. We began with mixed tempura excellently prepared, then moved onto a selection of sashimi (small platter) nigiri and rolls. The fish is of superb quality and the presentation very attractive. The waiters were attentive but not obtrusive. Everyone was extremely friendly and nice and the prices are low for the quality. Highly recommend and this will become a go to for our family."

"Been to quite a few sushi places and this place is honestly my favorite. It's kind of a hole in the wall, but the quality of everything is always great especially considering how cheap it is and the service is great. I've tried pretty much all of their nigiri, and quite a few of their rolls. They also make the best baked green mussels I've ever had! The sauce is always on point and the mussels are tender. And I know it's so simple but the bean sprout salad is so addicting I could eat a huge bowl of it. Will definitely continue coming here ?"

"I don't really eat sushi (or seafood in general) so whenever I go to a Japanese restaurant I look for non-seafood entries. I felt like Octopus had a fair variety to choose from! I decided to try the beef sukiyaki and I liked it quite a bit. I don't usually see sukiyaki on most menus.I liked the amount of noodles they gave you as well as the amount of vegetables. I felt like they could have added some more beef and the soup was ever so slightly too sweet but otherwise very good. I would get this dish again if I were craving sukiyaki!Service was minimal but might have been because we were there about an hour before closing.There is a small parking lot in the back of the restaurant."
