"This charming Fremont Thai restaurant was completely empty at lunchtime, which is, sadly, a reflection of our currently declining economy. In normal times most any local restaurant would have a full house, or at least one or two Uber Eats drivers picking up an order. But today I had the restaurant all to myself. If you 're lucky, like I was, to discover Line Thai when it 's not busy you 'll be treated to a quiet oasis, tasteful decor, prompt service and an outstanding meal.My knowledge of Thai cuisine is limited so I ordered Pad Thai with a side of coconut soup. The soup arrived first and was a perfect balance of spices and a visual treat. A few moments later the Pad Thai dish arrived and I actually wished it had arrived a little later as I was still enjoying the soup so much. The soup featured slices of large fresh mushrooms. A+The Pad Thai didn 't disappoint, either. I chose chicken for the protein but shrimp and tofu are other options. I requested additional minced peanuts as I find they add a crunchy counterpoint to the texture of the noodles. It did seem that the soup had more chicken than the Pad Thai.Line Thai 's menu is a little confusing at first but if you flip to the back you 'll find appetizing photos of the featured dishes. New diners might confuse the name Line with the phrase product line or with a geometric primitive. Once you realize that the restaurant is named Line the menu makes more sense. The menu 's photo of their deep fried banana dessert was very tempting that 's a must for my next visit. The food at Line Thai is as good as any high end restaurant. Don 't let the lack of tablecloths and candles fool you; this is fine dining in a casual setting.Prices for entrees are under $20 which is average for a dinner menu. My total was $27 without tip, a bargain for a private lunch experience, especially in this economy. My guess is that Line Thai hasn 't been open very long. Once the local office workers discover this place, you 'll miss the chance of duplicating my solo dining experience. There 'll be a Line."
