"Edge of the Woods has a wonderful selection of fresh produce and the largest vegan/vegetarian meal fixes around. The cosmetic section is full of organic, cruelty free products. The vitamin selection is overwhelmingly vast with any supplement you could wish for. There is a great selection of natural herbs, oils, self love and care products. Not to mention the book section!! I am in heaven! There is a wonderful selection of organic clothing, and the vegan/vegetarian bakery and deli is out of this world. Truly a great place!"

"Amazing food and the service was equally stellar. My waitress refilled my drink without my even noticing, and I was eating alone without my phone! I had the ravioli trio, cheese, spinach, and mushroom. All were good, but the mushroom really stole the show. For desert the Creme Brule was stunning. I wanted to lick the dish, but managed to restrain myself. People watching outside provided all the entertainment I needed, although the TV at the bar was showing one of the Star Wars movies. Fantastic experience!"

"Went for a birthday and we both enjoyed it. The hostess was friendly and said happy birthday once finding our reservation and the waitress was really welcoming. "We are fans of Hummus place at Stanford, but San Mateo location is different. Quality of the food is the same, but vibes and ambience is more like canteen. My husband always go for lamb shish kebab it is good. I went for salmon it varies, not as predictable as kebab. The place and the team are very kids friendly. We are visiting with our 13months old baby, the team plays and interacts with the baby in a very friendly Turkish style way! Much appreciated!"

"The food was delicious! We tried sampling meal $100 for 2 people who offered three courses of their popular dishes. We went on Thursday night and stayed for the belly dance show. You recommend making reservations an hour before the start of the show that I agree with because it becomes loud and dark during the show. You want to finish your meal before the show. Everything was tasteful. Drinks were strong, but delicious (as I like them! . Great customer service. We will definitely return!"

A large percentage of its business must be from take out, as it rarely appears crowded. This benefits those of us who dine in, by attentive service. Last Saturday, I brought a group of elderly women from my apartment building to Sahara's. They were picky eaters, unfamiliar with Turkish food, and couldn't figure out what to order. I thought the evening was going to be a disaster! The waitress patiently explained the menu, accommodated their needs and retained her composure. I credit her along with the good food for our evening's success."

"We stayed at the hotel across the street and thought we'd eat there but at $18 pp for a breakfast buffet was crazy. Found this place and read the reviews and was pleasantly surprised. This little whole in the wall is a gem. I had the western omlette with home fries and toast $11) and my husband had the eggs and hash. Breakfast was delicious! Best Western omlette I've had in a very long time. The man that took our order was super nice and attentive even after we ordered. Definitely recommend this place."

"Excellent service for our group of six. The mix grill platter is said to serve 2, but could serve 3 unless you’re both huge eaters. The complementary bread with tahini was really tasty and several enjoyed Turkish tea on the house as well at the end. Great food and a lovely ambiance."

"The brunch buffet looked old and unappetizing and the diners at our table who ordered it had nothing good to report. Possibly because it was a rainy Sunday, the place was almost empty. So then, with no crowds to serve, why was the waiter so slow and out of it? Although sweet. Giving them every benefit of the doubt, I’d have say that it was a mediocre experience. The fish was good but everything around it was mediocre. So disappointed! Perhaps it better as a dinner place?"
